The last two days have been a nightmare. My happy baby who never cries has been the grumpiest, clingiest, most unhappy little creature I have ever met. I thought maybe she was getting sick until I went to the calendar and discovered she is 26 weeks old. She has been up every 1-2 hours all night. She usually wakes 2-3 times to nurse and then right back to sleep but the last two nights she is awake and screaming and clingy until I take her into bed with me. She is comfort nursing for the first time ever and nursing is now the only way she will fall back asleep, but she has to scream for a while before she decides to nurse and go back to sleep. She is fighting her naps and when she does nap it won't be for more than 30 min. She wants to be held all the time and does not want to be in the carrier so my arms are killing me. The only time she is happy is if we go for a walk in the stroller, but it has been pouring rain here which is fine for her because she has a rain cover on her stroller, but is not so much fun for me. As soon as there is a break in the weather we head out for a walk so I can get some peace for an hour or so. How long did wonder week 26 last for all of you? It has only been 2 days and I already want to pull my hair out!

Wow I would have written this exact same post a few weeks ago, except at the time I was too tired to put the words together!! Same thing happened to us early May, he was suddenly cranky & clingy all day but the worst part was waking up EVERY hour all night 😩. Then just as suddenly as it started everything went back to normal about a week ago! It lasted about 3 weeks for us, I hope yours is shorter! Good luck xx

Ugh, 3 weeks! I guess I should mentally prepare to be in this for the long haul!

Did you bed share while your LO was going through this? I don't mind bed sharing to get her through tough times so long as she goes back in her crib once it's over. I don't sleep well when we bed share so I don't want to do it long term. I am worried that if we bed share for 3 weeks she won't want to go back in her crib, but she just will not sleep in her crib for the night. She will go down in her crib ok at night, but it only lasts 30 min before she wakes up crying. I'll try for 5 min or so to soothe her without picking her up, but she just gets more and more hysterical so I end up taking her out of her crib. If it try to put her back in her crib once she has calmed down she will cling to me desperately and scream bloody murder, so we are bed sharing pretty much all night.

Soooo happy to read this means I didn't break my baby 😊.

We did bed share otherwise I wouldn't have had any sleep! I was worried about creating bad habits but I don't think I could have coped. He's back on his normal schedule now, but that's still bed sharing from around 2:30am

Last night was a bit better, she wouldn't sleep in her crib so she slept with me all night, but only woke at her usual times to nurse and then went back to sleep. Today she has had two naps in her crib without any fuss (second nap has been over an hour and going strong!) so hopefully we are on the upswing!

My boy is 27 weeks today and had him in this for around 12-14 days now. I forget exactly when it started. Me and all 3 kids have been ill one after another, so it's all kinda blurred into one long sleep deprived mess haha! He has been getting a little easier the past 2 nights thou and today was much better so hoping we are beginning to come out of the other side of it.

We seem to be over the worst of it now so that wasn't too bad, only about a week of hell. She is no longer fighting naps and isn't waking quite as frequently at night. But now her sleep is disturbed by her desperate desire to be mobile. She tries to crawl in the her sleep, rolls around, etc and wakes herself up.

If it isn't one thing that makes life challenging with a baby it's another!
