A promotion came up at work, which my manager put my name forward for. Today the Big Bosses spent all day in a meeting to make the decision on who to give it to. Before I left work I asked my manager what they have decided. Turns out there not going to announce it until Monday. I'm so annoyed! I can't imagine there's any good reason for it. The decision has already been made because the meeting finished about an hour before I spoke to my manager. And they're not going to be meeting again. It's like there just trying to keep people on their best behaviour for a few days. Because whoever they decide, it's going to annoy other people.
To be honest I don't think I'm going to get it anyway. I can do the job. And I'd do it well. But another woman who has gone for it is a complete suck up. She sucks up to ALL the managers. And where promotions are concerned at my work place, it can sometimes just become a popularity contest.
