Hi

I'm wondering if anyone can offer advice.

I had a positive test on 04/09/15. Everything was ok until 17/09/15 when I had my first spotting of blood. More came on 19/09/15 and HCG was 540 then rose to 590 on 21/09/15. After this the HCG dropped rapidly and by 25/09/15 was less than 100.

From 17/09/15 I had light to moderate on/off spotting.
On 22/09/15 I had heavy bleeding.

I know there's no way of judging accurately, but when should I count cycle day 1 from (roughly)? From the date of spotting started/date heavier apotting came?/date of heavy blood?/ date of largest clot passed (after which bleeding became a lot less)

Thanks and I know this is probably a pointless excercise but it just helps me to know where I am in my cycle and hopefully when I'm ovulating.

Honestly I'm not sure how you can count it. I bled for 3.5 weeks, stopped 10 days then had another 11 days of bleeding. I did ovulate though.
Do you do opks? I think your best bets just to keep testing if you do- you may not even ovulate this cycle, or it may be a bit 'wonky' like mine was. Good luck

I'm so sorry for your loss, first of all. I know it is a roller coaster of emotions. So you say that you had heavy bleeding on 9/22, and HCG was less than 100 on 9/25? I would say start on the heavy bleeding day, but if you still had HCG in your system I would tend to count CD 1 as whenever the closest day you can figure your HCG was zero. I don't think that anything can be really accurate after a loss, because your hormones are so out of whack that you can ovulate right after or take awhile. I would say it might be easiest to count your heavy bleeding day if you don't know when your HCG was zero. I certainly wouldn't count the light bleeding or spotting. Good luck, here's to a sticky bean the next time!!!! :hugs::hugs:

I would count CD1 as the day when you passed everything (the baby, placenta, etc.) Sometimes you will still bleed for a little while after you passed the sac. Your body will probably not have a period until after all the pregnancy tissue is gone, in that the bleeding completely stops, though you may still have hormones left. I had a D&C back in February and my hcg was still in the 40/50 range when my period finally came on.

I counted day 1 as the day I started bleeding. for me it went from spotting to light within a few hours. check out my current chart, it's my miscarriage chart. It's not a real cycle so you don't even have to count it at all. I did but mine was anovulatory (even with the positve opk) and it's not being put into my stats on FF. I took my final hpt on Oct 2 and it was a squinter on a frer so we counted that as negative.

I counted the first day of actual bleeding as day 1 and my cycle when I had my mc at 5+6 went right back to normal.
