How much is the cut off point for being entitled, does anyone know? Does anyone earn more than £28,000 per year (before tax) and still get WTC?

Everyone thinks we should be entitled, but we're not. I'm not complaining if we're not, just wondering what the cut off is?

i'd be interested to know too as OH is going from owning own business to being employed doing the same work, which has changed the amount that we can claim i think, we had a good accountant and book keeper who helped us out.

DF and I both earn less than 28k and we don't get any wtc!

I need another child, cut off point is wayyyy higher

I'm going to put in that we've got two children and see what happens..

I don't understand, is it because I'm not working? Rich earns too much? Too many hours? I don't get it! If the cut off point is almost 40k for 2 children surely we should get something............. (when I put in we have two children I mean..)

I think it said the cut off point for 1 child was just over 17,000

Oh I see, it's and, not or on the cut off  You have to be all of those things...

Slowly making more sense..

wtc cut off is 17k not matter how many kids as we have 4...we earn 16.500 and get 15 a wk

What is the cut off point of income for Working Tax Credit?

The cut-off point of income for getting Working Tax Credit is different for different people. The point at which you stop getting it will depend on your circumstances.

For example, if:
■You are a couple without children and
■You are not disabled and
■You and/or your partner work at least 30 hours a week

the cut off point is £17,458.

The cut-off point will be higher if you have children, and it may be higher again if you use registered childcare. For example, if:
■You are a single parent working at least 16 hours
■You have two children and
■You use registered childcare of £250 a week
the cut-off point is £42,240.

That seems low hun, we get 178 ctc a week and 85 wtc a week based on us having an income of about 15,000 and we have 4 kids too

Im sure tax credits calculate it to suit themselves sometimes lol
