Does anyone have experience of working more than the 10 KIT days while claiming maternity allowance?

I have my own limited company and will need to continue to support a couple of companies throughout my maternity leave for odd hours here and there on top of about 1 day/month on site.
Having looked into the rules on maternity allowance it seems that any work I do (i.e. bill to the client) will make that day count as a KIT day so if I do an hour on four days in a month plus the day on site then that's half my KIT days gone!

Anyone got any workarounds?

No work arounds I am afraid, it works the same as when you are SMP, part days count as one day. However, if you do, do more, you will need to let HMRC know and you just wont get SMP for that week, or the proportion of.
