I was 45 when I got pregnant and bc of that I saw a genetic counselor and a perinatologist, and was told anything under 2.5 was good. I had the MaterniT21 test bc my age alone put me at a very high risk for trisomy 13,18 and 21. All came back fine though. Seriously, I don't think 2.1 is high, although I understand your worry. Hope you get your results back soon so you can relax. Mine came back in 8 days. Good luck.
The office I went to gives you a 1/XXXX ratio.
Mine just said they were pleased to tell me both babies were in the low risk group - no specific numbers x

Thanks for responding, Scout! Wow, 45! That's awesome!!! I saw the perinatologist and all he did was scare the crap out of me with all that could go wrong. I had my dd at 40 and I told him everything went fine with the pregnancy and with the baby and he said I just "jinxed" myself. What a terrible thing to say.
Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting my results this week. Just curious, do they just give you a "low/high risk" result or actual percentages?
Thanks again!![]()

The MaterniT21 comes back with a 'yes' or 'no', or rather, 'the baby has typical chromosomes', or not. It's not a ratio. I think other tests are still given as ratios. I was told by the lab that there is a 96% accuracy rate if test comes back as positive (not typical chromosomes) and then you should go on and have an amnio bc their test could be wrong, but it has a 99% accuracy rate if it comes back negative (typical chromosomes).
And thanks. This baby was a huge surprise (no kids, told I couldn't have kids after having 3 miscarriages earlier in life), wasn't trying to get pregnant. Had her when I was 46.I always say she is the best thing that's ever happened to this old woman LOL. And yep, so scary when they start telling you all the things that could go wrong. I remember when I was about 30 weeks, I finally said to my mother, 'you know, I could actually be bringing a baby home'. It didn't really hit me til then. Anyway, good luck!
My measurement was exactly the same as yours and my risk came back as 1 in 27000. I'm 32 so was a little worried as it was higher than my DD's measurement (1.7).
Have you heard anything back yet? If you had anything to worry about I think you would have heard by now x
From what I got told (not sure if it's the same everywhere), they would send a letter within 10 days if everything was fine. They said if there were any problems I would get a telephone call within 48 hours... hopefully all is fine for you, it sounds positive as that isn't a high measurement at all. According to Wikipedia an average NT measurement is 2.18mmx
Ok, so now my question is this...is it 7-10 business days or calendar days that the results will take. It's now day 8 calendar days. I'm getting nervous. Does anybody know???
Nope, I haven't heard anything. I'm not too worried because I know my NT measurement was good, so I'll bug them about it at the end of the week if I still haven't heard anything. I don't remember exactly how long they said it would take, and I'm sure the holiday threw things off.
