Hi there lovely ladies

I'm Ani and have found this forum today after searching the net for advice after a chemical miscarraige. I was advised to end my pregancy with Robin at 16 weeks. Robin was my first pregnancy and I feel like I dont know what is happening to my body and I havent been given any help from the medical world. I was advised that I would bleed following giving birth but I'm now 4 weeks in and I'm still bleeding. The bleeding did start to calm down after two weeks but last weekend it came back with a vengence and I now feel I cant leave the house in case I leak as I'm having lots of gushing with clots. Has anyone else had this - I'm sorry if I'm being naive but I dont know who to ask?

I just want all this to be over so that we can try again as all I want to be is a mum.

Thank you for reading x

hi love, super sorry for ur loss. :( losing a baby at 16 weeks is super sad :(:( hugggs. i lost mine at 5 weeks last monday and im already v sad. cant imagine how is it for u. My gynae did tell me that if im bleeding excessively after the d&C surgery (which cleaned up my clots in my womb), i should call him or go check it up. did u do a d&c surgery to clean up the blood clots in ur womb after ur miscarriage?

huggggs.

Thank you for replying Vonz.

I was given drugs to end my pregnancy as Robin was a very unwell baby and wouldnt make it to full term. This was conducted in hospital and the midwife advised that I had delivered Robin and the placenta all at once so they wouldnt need to do a D&C. I didnt think anything of this but three days afterwards I had contractions again after they had subsided I went for a walk with my hubby and a clot the size of an orange arrived which was very scary. I called the labour ward to ask if this was ok and they said oh yeah sounds like its all clear now. I havent got the number for a specialist I've just been told they'll write to me and ask me to go in for a check up after 6 weeks. I feel a little bit let down by the medical world as we've really had no support.

I've found some information on the internet which says that the first period following taking the drugs I had will cause a very clotty period so I'm just hoping that perhaps I'm having a very bad period and it will stop in a couple of days.

Gosh being a woman is not easy is it!

First of all hun big hugs and sorry for your loss. Your bleeding after a medically induced miscarriage at such a late stage means that your likey to experience bleeding just like you would following a normal delivery of a full term baby. It can last up to 6 weeks its not a period as such but called lockie or something. I know after I had my daughter i bled for about 7 weeks. Hope this helps. If you at all worried go n see your gp. X

hi so sos for your loss..
i had a massive bleed thursday and had to go hosp and just come home now..

so please phone hosp if your loss is heavy hun..
xx

I'm so sorry about Robin, I too just sad goodbye to my boy at 16wks and I'm not enjoying this amount of bleeding, I had hoped that it wouldn't go on for much longer, if I'm still bleeding after 4 weeks I'd go to GP, best to be safe and have yourself checked over. Take care and hope your bleeding stops soon.

I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know much about the chemical miscarriages, but I think if you are bleeding excessively you should phone a clinic or hospital and perhaps take a drive down to the ER if they don't advise you what to do when you call.

Please keep us posted on what happens. I hope you get the care you need and begin to feel better soon. Again, so sorry for your loss *hug*

hey dearie, how r u doing? i suggest if its bleeding or if its painful, go to A&E and see if u can get a 2nd opinion or suggestion.. hugs. :(

I didn't want to read and run, i am so sorry for your loss. I would what everyone else has said, if you are really worried about it go get checked out just to be on the safe side :hugs:

Dear Robin, sorry for your loss.
I had MMC at 8w and had a D&C. I bled lightly non stop for 23 days then I think menses arrived and I started bleeding very very heavily. I went to the doctor. She saw no remains but said that there could be microscopic remains causing the bleeding. She drained the blood in my uterus with a cannula and prescribed me some meds. It worked. I am hoping that my next period will be normal.
So please see a doctor. Heavy bleeding is so tiring both physically and emotionally.

so sorry for your loss hun i lost my little baby lily at 22 weeks i know how awful it is!!!
i def think you should go to your gp if this continues theres no need for you to be worrying after everything you've already gone through!! thats what your gp is there for and though im sure everything is fine at least it will put your mind at ease... thinkin of you and your little angel xxxx

Hi there

Thank you so much for all your lovely replies - you've all given me comfort!

I went to the Docs yesterday and turns out I have a temp, low blood pressure and an infection. I'm now on antibiotics and have to go back on Friday. The bleeding has already subsided so I feel like I might finally be on the mend physically which will help me emotionally!

Seriously so much love to you all and masses of good luck!

How are you feeling hun? Hope u r ok!
