I'm a single mum to a beautiful 14 month old girl.
I was with her dad for 4 years and I left him 8 months ago.
It was a very violent and controlling relationship and I finally had to do the right thing and leave him.
He wasn't the greatest dad in the world anyway, even when we were together. he never paid and we didn't even live together because he didn't wanna give up his freedom.
His family have hated me from day one because they thought I wasn't good enough because I'm English and they're Turkish. They wouldn't accept me.
When we first split, he sent a solicitors letter demanding access 3 times and week and over night stays. I refused as he has never had her overnight and wouldn't even know how to look after her anyway.
After that, I haven't heard anything from him since. I'd had the odd note posted through the letter box threatening that i'll ''soon be gone''. it was written by one of the family's children so it couldn't be traced back.
I've just recently started worrying a lot about what rights he has?
i've heard i can't even get her christened without his permission?
he's a really terrible person and i am terrified of him and his family.
I even have to carry a personal attack alarm and foam protection spray in case he attacks me or tries to take my daughter.
I'm just worried sick he can legally come along and do what he wants :cry:

No he cant. If I am right the last time I looked access is one day and night every other weekend. And if you say he is violent that would be your reason for him to have supervised visits either with a family member or at a centre.
As for getting her Christened you can do that if you wish. FOB had no say at all in the twins Christening, he doesnt have a faith and I am Roman Catholic, all our family have been Christened and my mum wouldnt have it any other way!

Let him keep going to a solicitor, get some advice yourself and make sure you know where you stand.

also with regard to your threats to safety, call your local police and speak to the domestic abuse unit...explain your concerns and ask for them to talk you through safety steps, what to do if a situation arises and whether they can install a panic alarm in the house
