worring like mad painted my nails in the same room as lo. harmful?

Hi i tried googling but its very vague. My 8 month old boy was asleep in his cot and i thought innocently ooh ill paint my nails while hes sleeping. Halfway thru i realised the fumes might b harmful and now iv started worrying like mad. Once i realised i opened our window in the bedroom and finished off by the window. This is the only time iv done this. Iv never painted my nails since having him and now i feel selfish and worried if my lo will b ok. I certainly wont b doin my nails again in our bedroom when hes in there. My hubby says he will b okay but i am.a mummy who is a worry wort!!!

I had my nails painted next to my LO who was only 2 weeks, I felt as long as I wasn't too close to him and the room was well ventilated everything is ok, I'm sure your LO is fine

Don't google anything, it will come up the worst possible scenario!

I wouldn't worry. If nail varnish fumes could do any damage there would be a warning on the bottle!

Your LO will be fine hun, if nail varnish was that dangerous it would come with warnings on the bottle. And yes, I'd avoid googling stuff, although I have to admit I'm totally guilty of scaring myself with the worst case scenarios!

Thanks guys. He is fine this morning.I was just worrying coz us moms do,and i was innocently doing something for myself for a change, and i didnt think. I will be painting them in a different room from now on thats for sure!

It's a teeny bit of nail varnish for a few mins, not like you painted the bedroom walls! Honestly, there are worse fumes going on on a busy street/the tube etc. If it makes you feel any better (or makes me look like a bad mum!) I've painted my nails while LO is breastfeeding/napping on my lap before!
