Would a tutu on a newborn be absolutely ridiculous?

So my take home outfit that I'm planning includes a tutu. I'm going to make it so the fluffy part is just in the front, and tied around with a ribbon (or just momentarily tucked in), so no tulle in back and nothing too crazy fluffy, but cute to take those "bundled in the car seat ready to go" photos. Then will likely remove it before actually leaving the hospital because I'm sure it wouldn't make for comfy travel. My OH thinks I'm insane for wanting to inflict this on a tiny baby, lol (but then again he's also against headbands/bows/hats..and I'm NOT backing down on that one).

Do I really sound crazy for wanting to do this?

Yes a tutu is ridiculous for a newborn but who cares? You're not hurting them so go for it if you want to!

I think it sounds really cute. And honestly at the end of the day if u like it that's all that matters hun.

If by ridiculous you mean adorable, then yes!!

You're not doing anything to hurt her, and it's all in good natured, frilly fun. I say (as a mom of two little boys who never gets to buy cutesy girl clothes) go for it. : )

It's not for me I just like newborns in baby grows but it's your baby and if you like it go for it!x

Personally, I would not do it.

But hey, it's your baby and your choice and I'm sure she would look adorable so go for it :)

As a mother of two boys now expecting my first girl, would probably do it! Just for pictures! But I've NEVER been able to buy frilly girly stuff as all I have are boys and nephews!!

I would ideally but in reality newborns can be a bit bunched up. :)

I think it's a cute idea.

I wish I put DD in tutus when she were younger at least just for pics!

I've bought DD a tutu for when she has a baby photo shoot when she's going to be a couple of weeks old. She's my first daughter so I want to make the most of pretty things!

Oh they only stay small enough that you can do this fun rediculous things to them for so long, so I would totally go for it. I used to dress my St. Bernard up in little dresses all the time when she was a puppy, lol, and those are my favorite pictures. I'm having a boy, but I'm already planning make him do those cute "baby in a pumpkin" pictures next halloween.

Having my first girl after 4 boys I would totally do this! I have a baby gro for her with a tutu attached. It's sewn on! Enjoy xxx

This is the kind of thing only a first time mom would want to try lol. So go ahead, you only have one first baby :)

yeah its a bit silly but its fun so go for it it wont hurt her and our only putting it on her for pics, im baffled as to why hes against headbands and hats!

I had this on DD for her newborn pics in the hospital. Its attached to the onesie so its not irritating
