me and my oh didnt ask for anything

i dont mind what people get us for the wedding.. im not the type of person to expect something of someone.. and id rather not ask for anything if people give something then id be ok with it

my oh's mom was shocked when i said i wasnt gonna ask for anything or do a list.. i just feel awkward and i dont want to!!

am i weird not to?

not at all

We did NOT want to do a wedding list at all but after constant hassle from MIL & her sister, we ended up giving in and doing one but i put a note in the invites stating we did not WANT or EXPECT gifts, all we wanted was a lovely day with our friends and family

We did however end up getting well and truly spoilt and we are totally overwhelmed but how generous people have been (to to be honest I feel totally guilty about it too!)

yeah because i just hate that feeling haha.. its like if ever im asked what i want for my birthday/christmas i always say i dont mind, i dont expect anything lol

i realise this is different haha but still feel awkward.. and my oh's mother is going mad.. i think because she doesnt know what to get us haha

my parents are ok with it because they have already told us our present is they are paying for our honeymoon to Greece

we did our wedding list, like i said, to shut MIL up, she would then ring us going '**** looked at your list and said there isn't much left' or '**** looked at your list and didn't like anything off it so is giving you money/cheque'

drove me up the bloody wall, we did the list for a quiet life and even then it wasn't good enough lol

We haven't done a list. We have been living together for 2 years and have kids, what could we possibly need???
If people are desperate to give us something then they will probably buy vouchers but we don't want or need anything.

your not werid at all, people just write letters if they want/need something then stops from gettong doubles or stuff you don't want to get lol...

think its normal nowadays least your not being ungrateful.
