Ask for an early scan, i mc'd at 16 weeks with my last baby in 2007 and wold just feel more at ease if i had an early scan just so i could see everything was ok x x x

I had a MC in march last year and they said no to an early scan. They will only offer you an early one on the NHS if you have had 3 - 4 MCs. Its such a pain as i would love to see the HB at 8 weeks!!

I had a MMC in November and found out at my 12 week scan baby had died at 8 weeks so this pregnancy I asked for an early scan and was also told no so i've just gotta wait for my 12 week scan which is two weeks today and then my 20 week scan. It's a little frustrating isn't it?

I did book a private sca for when I was 9 weeks but it was going to cost £130 and we are moving house at the moment so unfortuantely money is tight so I had to cancel it with the attitude what will be will be!

Just stay positive hun and remember lightning doesn't usually strike twice xxx

Thanks for the advice ladies, i have had 3 mc's but 2 were at 5 weeks..... Im just gonna think happy thoughts and keep my fingers crossed and try and enjoy every min i have x x x x x

My EPU will scan you if u've had even one miscarriage(as long as the miscarriage was managed with them)

Worth asking, everywhere is different :hugs:

We were going to have an early scan when i got another :bfp: as well for £75 but my DH lost his job with 1 weeks notice a couple of week before we fouund out so thats put a stop to that idea!

Will just have to wait and see now i guess

ive had 4 scans so far due to bleeding wasnt going to offer me early scan till heavy bleeding

Umm interesting! I had an early scan at the EPU last time as they were worried it was ectopic (i was sent from A & E where i went with awful pain in my side) only 5 +3 so they didnt see anything but where happy there was nothing in the tubes as well. They were so nice and really looked after me, guess it might be worth giving them a call . . . What did you say to them though??

My EPU scanned me yesterday, at 6+1 and have another booked at 9 weeks and another at 12, because i have had 3 miscarriages since september, but only one was managed by them, and only one had medical evidence of it happening. I asked for an early scan to put my mind at ease and they are giving me two, go to your gp, explain your history and worries and he should refer you to the EPU clinic.

Good luck :cloud9:

my epu also wont scan till 8 weeks no matter how many miscarriages you've had.
apparently its the same in a lot of places.
unless you ask, well really pretty much beg, they wouldn't scan you if they could get away with it till 12 weeks. you've got to be really persistant and demanding i've gathered now.
xx

Not a lot - at my first and second miscarriage they always said - call us as soon as you get your next positive test, and we'l book a scan at 8 weeks.

I got my bfp, called and told them.

I started spotting at 6+2 and they took me in however, scanned me, and kept my 8 week appointment too just as a follow up.

Its difficult for some EPU's as they do not get the funding like other depts would. My EPU is kept afloat by an investment company!

I hope you get your early scan. I had pains when I was pregnant with Emma and had a scan at what turned out to be 11+5 but that was at the EPU and they were lovely. I agree with Sandy - give them a call :hugs:

I had a miscarriage last October and thought of asking for an early scan (or paying for 1 privately), but after thinking it through I decided against it. I figure if it is meant to be it's meant to be, I think the stress/apprehension of going for the scan couldn't be good for me or the baby. I am 13 weeks now and have my booking in appt next week and still don't have a scan date, but I'm not letting it worry me, just going with the flow and hoping beyond all hope that my baby is fighting fit in there :o))

I hope you get your scan if it is worrying you, but if you don't try not to stress. Good Luck!
