Yolk sac but no fetal pole

Update on this. Unfortunately after being given good news two weeks ago, yesterday's scan showed that the baby stopped growing last week and doesn't have a hearbeat anymore Booked in for a D&C tomorrow, the OB/gyn said my sac is big and it'll be very painful if I try the tablets.

I wish that we hadn't had that momentary surge of hope for it to end up like this anyway. Looks like I was right about my dates and the embryo never grew properly.

Fleur, I had the same thing happen. I went in for my scan at 7+6 and the baby measured 6+1, but had a heartbeat. I was sure of my dates. Went back for follow-up at 8+5 and baby still measured 6+1, but no longer had a heartbeat. I knew from the beginning it wasn't a normal pregnancy. Unfortunately, I told my family and then had to go back and tell everyone we lost the baby. Yesterday was 4 days since My second scan and I started spotting.

So sorry for your loss.
Its horrible when it comes to an end like this,deep down you know whats happening but we hang on to any hope!

im having the same issue. Non doubling hcg levels and mondays scan should of been 7+weeks but baby measured 5 with no heartbeat
also had a scan prior to that and thought things was good as I developed a yolk sac.

I go bk on monday for another scan to confirm this is a MMC.
its a horrible feeling, I feel so tricked and cheated!
