Hello.

I have had what I believe to be post partum, or just straight up depression, since the birth of my second son 16 months ago.

Actually, probably off and on since I was 17, but I always chalked it up to PMS and situational problems. Which most of it probably was.

I have never wanted to hurt myself. Or anyone around me. To get that out of the way.

But sometimes I think it would be nice to go to sleep and not wake up for 5 years. (doesnt every mom sometimes?)

Anyway, enough is enough and its getting to the point where I do and say things out of character and in the end, the one I am hurting the most is my darling 5 year old boy. I have a quick temper, no patience, constant irritability, no motivation or energy. And that is totally out of character for me.

So I went to the Dr, and expresed my concern, also wondering if it had to do with the IUD i have had since April. He said he highly doubts that, and wrote me a RX for Zoloft.

I havent filled it. And I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this drug... As I am wary of medication but I also want to feel like myself again.

Any insight would be helpful! :)

My friend who had ppd was prescribed Prozac which really helped her. I have heard good things with Zoloft too, I'm sure it will be fine sweetie. It will help you stable out. Just look at it as a temporary solution while you stay to feel better and then it should be good once you get off.

Hi,
I am on Zoloft, for different reasons. It has helped me tremendously..It was the first one I tried and it worked for me. I had all the opposite symptoms, when you first start taking it.. I wasn't tired and I wanted to have sex much more ( still do) I feel so much better and my body adjusted to it perfectly..I am on 100-mg. If it doesn't work for you, it's ok, you keep trying till something does.. It has definitely balanced me out..

Good Luck XO <3
