1 hr Glucose levels high....

I got a call form my OB's office and my glucose levels were elevated at my 1 hour glucose test, they have scheduled me in for a 2 hour fasting glucose for this Thursday. I'm scared now though because they say Gestational Diabetes causes big babies and my LO has been measuring 2 weeks ahead for at least the last 2 months, and everyone keeps making comments about how I look more like i'm 9 months than 7, and they all think i'm gonna go early. Has anyone else had this and it turned out to just be a coincidence?

My sister in law had the same thing happen. She was looking bigger than she should and also failed the one hour glucose test. She retested and passed the three hour one. She also had a growth ultrasound done and the baby is just a bigger one, not as alarming as originally thought though. Good luck!

They dont do 1hr here as they say they are inaccurate.
Im having 3hr one in august. Ive looked 8 months since 4 months.

Just happened to me and it was ok My levels were high, both babies measuring ahead but after the two hour test they called to say I was fine. Fingers crossed for you!!

The 1 hour has a high failure rate. I have taken it through all my pregnancies and passed it but I have it down to a science now! i go first thing in the morning and eat only protein before I go!

With that being said measuring big does not mean you have GD you could just be a bigger pregnant lady. i would not worry about it and get the next test done and go from there!

I am waiting to hear how my levels were for the 1 hour one too.... I figure no call from my OB is good news. However, the failure rates for the 1 hour ones are high.... so good luck on the longer test!

trust me I know i'm a bigger pregnant lady lol. I have been showing since about 16 weeks and growing exponentially, one of my employee's walked into my office this morning after being away for a month and when I stood up from behind my desk he was shocked and said "Oh WOW you must be ready to pop"..... yeah in 3 months I get my test tomorrow morning and hopefully will have my results by Tuesday when i see my doctor.

I failed the one hour and had to do the 3 hour, and I passed. I think it's common to fail the 1 hour.

Thanks so much. We came up with his name before we even got pregnant, I think us having a boy was just meant to be as we could not think of a girl name at all and his name just came naturally.
