Hiya ladies,

My 10 month old is still BF along with 3 food meals a day.

He doesn't really have much boob really, maybe 4 max 5 boobie snacks within 24 hours.

Is that enough? It tends to be once in the morning, one in the afternoon but always hardly a drink at best, one good drink before bed, one during the night but sometimes he wakes twice for milk...

He drinks from a beaker and tends to drink a whole beaker of water within a day.

I worry this isn't enough milk but he wont take anymore and if I try to latch him on for more he bites me... which leads to my next question.

My LO bites me EVERY SINGLE FEED!!! he clamps his mouth on my nipple then pulls off... im actually terrified when he drinks now form me. I love BFing and don't want to stop but this is getting too painful... any tips... he's been doing it for 3 weeks now and finds it funny!

any suggestions xxx

When my son was your age he started biting, he was teething. When he bit I would exclaim "ouch! That hurts mommy" and put him in the floor. It took 3 times of him realizing that wasn't going to fly, and then he never bit me again. Good luck!

My son bites me every feed too! Hard...and he has 5 teeth! Hurts terribly! Even taking him off, saying no, etc has not helped. He seems to think it's hilarious! I started pinching him at the suggestion of a mom who bf for 15 months. That hasn't worked either. I don't think i'm pinching hard enough, but I don't want to leave a mark or hurt him badly, just enough to smart a little. I have basically given up hope that he will stop. I put him on a bottle during the day because of his biting. He now feeds 2x a day direct (morning/night) & takes about 15 oz of cows milk. I was sad at the thought of weaning, but his razor sharp teeth have made dripping a few feeds easier on me!

Maddie feeds about 4 times in 24 hours - she also has 3 meals a day and a snack in the afternoon. GP told me this was fine. Apparently they start to drop feeds about now.

She drinks quite a bit of water with all her meals and we offer water during the day now it's warmer. I got her weighed cos I was worried as well and she is still on her line so I guess she's doing ok! xx

Can't offer any advice about the biting as I don't have that problem yet. Hopefully never!

I nurse about 4-5 times a day and 1-2 times a night, unless it's a bad night of course. She started dropping feeds pretty suddenly. I swear that she was nursing 7-10 times a day about 5 seconds ago. She's gaining weight and doing incredibly well with milestones, so I must be doing this right. :haha:

Regarding the biting- I tried the put down thing but it didn't work. I ended up honking her little nose (not painfully, just stopping the air) and that worked like a charm. She rarely bites now and usually I can sense when she is planning to and stop it.
