Hi Everyone... Here is my success story...
I have my first menstrual cycle when I was 13, my second when I was 16 and after that, my cycles averaged every 6-9 months. My longest cycle was 14 months. Over the years, I was told that when I hit my twenties, my periods would regulate but they never did. I even went on and off BCPs several times hoping to make things fall in to place but it failed every time.
My now husband and I started dating when I was 18 and very quickly after were engaged and started to TTC. Doctor after doctor said it was fine without doing any tests until finally I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2002. That being said, I was told we could still conceive but would probably need medical intervention.
We did not give up trying and in December 2007, we finally saw an infertility specialist once we were settled in Alaska from California. That was were I was told that it was very likely that I had never ovulated and from the ultrasounds, we could see that my ovaries were SURROUNDED by cysts. So, first we tried Metformin for 3 months to see if that would correct my cycles but it did nothing but make me sick. Then we did 5 cycles of Clomid. The first 3 cycles did nothing and I had to kick start a new cycle with Progesterone. The 4th cycle, we had an egg and tried IUI with the trigger shot but that was a too. On the 5th cycle, no egg and we were all really upset. My doctors nurse even cried.
At that point, it was December 2008 and we were told our last chance was probably going to be IVF but since that is not something that my hubby and I could afford so, basically, we gave up. Decided to go back to being a normal married couple and enjoying sex and each other. We both needed a break from scheduled BD and doctors appts.
After that, my periods stopped, like they always did and I didn't really give TTC a second thought. ... Until St. Patrick's Day in March of this year (2009). I wasn't feeling very well and was really tired. I had a bunch of HPTs laying around and figured better to test now and get it out of the way then to get my hopes up and be disappointed. So, at 11pm, I tested.
I started screaming from the bathroom for my husband. An hour later, I took a digital test and that said "pregnant". I was thrilled.
So, ten years from the start of TTC, at the age of 28 and after all the treatments and nearly 4 months after my LMP, I got my at 4 weeks.
Now I am 19+2 and due November 25th.
