12 week safe period

I'm not sure, I assume you'd go by this until your dating scan. Because dates usually differ after that, you get put back/forward a couple of days.

They say 12 weeks as that is around the time of first scan (in the uk anyway) you don't hit 12 weeks (which is from lmp) and are suddenly safe though. you will worry until your baby is born and beyond, it's just worrying for different reasons.

In theory I suppose it would be 12 weeks from your LMP but I would go with the dating scan 12 week point anyway, just because it is probably a bit more accurate. xxx

Yes it's calculated from the date of your LMP.
