Some background: I'm 29 w/ PCOS, overweight, taking Metformin/Femara. I've been TTC for only 2 mths, never been pregnant.

I took Femara this cycle (which helps bring about ovulation) and I used an OPK to make sure I was ovulating, abstained 5 days before that to make sure there was a good supply of the little guys. :spermy: I've been testing since 9DPO and so far all BFNs.

However AF is due on Wednesday and I usually only get cramps the day before/day of AF. My cramps started mildly on Fri night/Saturday and Sunday & today (Monday) have been very present (as bad as full-on AF cramps). But I've also been having a pretty strong backache in my lower back(which I never get at all before/after AF). And my stomach has been feeling weird...hard to explain. Similar to how your stomach feels when it's growling...but milder. Also my nipples have been getting progressively sore since Thursday (8DPO) and my boobs have been sore off/on.

I've never been pregnant, but these seem like some weird symptoms for me. I've been really tired somedays but today I feel OK. Has anyone else had similar symptoms and went on to get a BFP? I'm hoping this it, though it's only my 2nd month TTC and my first month on Femara. Oh and also I'm overweight but the metformin is supposed to make me more fertile and over the past month I've been regularly doing yoga, going for walks & eating healthier (and I've lost about 7lbs). Any advice/similar experiences would be appreciated!!!

Hi again Aomame, :hi:
We've chatted before :) Its great to hear you're doing so well this cycle with the Femara and the OPK's. The cramping and over symptoms sound very positive to me, especially if the symptoms are unusual for you!
It may be too early for you to get your BFP, try testing tomorrow as your af will be 1 day late then and you'll more likely get an accurate result.
It sounds like you did all the right things this month. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and hoping you get your bfp! xx:flower:

Thanks, Bea. I am freaking out presently because I'm 15DPO and still BFN and no AF. I've had cramps for several days & sore boobs (they were the most sore yesterday). I've also been having lower back pain and feeling warm. I don't feel how I normally do before AF and I'm not sure why. Also tmi I know but normally I have severe diarrhea and instead I've been constipated. I'm normally never constipated. Anyway I see my gnyo tomorrow who will probably send me for a blood test if still no AF. But who knows how long THAT will take. I might just pay to get the blood test done privately....unless it's really expensive. The killer (that I'm sure everyone goes through) is I really wanna be & I feel like I just might be (more so than ever before) and if I'm not I'll be really bummed and if I am I'll still be worried because why is my Hcg so low it can't be picked up.

AHHHHHHHHHH! haha Sorry....I'm just gonna sit here and quietly go crazy. ](*,)

Good luck with your gyn appointment tomorrow, I hope you dont have to wait too long to get your blood test and results.
I was testing in my first month ttc and kept getting bfns around the time that af was due and the day after, and i did some research in to it. Apparently some women's HCG levels don't climb as quickly but can go on to have normal pregnancies. i've read about people who had to wait 5 or 6 weeks before it would show up on a home pregnancy test. You are doing the best thing getting a blood test as then you'll know for sure.
I know how hard it is to be unsure, its so hard not to get your hopes up isn't it. Hope you get your answers soon x

Yeah I know, it's just hard to wait! My mom told me one of my cousins was pregnant & didn't find out until she gave birth. But it happened years ago so I don't know if it's because she never tested at all or if it didn't show on the test. But I mean it'd be weird to never think of testing the whole 9 mths even though she must have felt SOMETHING....I dunno cause we're not close & I can't talk to her. But I'm hoping either my levels are just too low (but not TOO low if you get my meaning) or maybe I'm one who needs to blood test every time. *fingers crossed*

So I was really impatient & I wanted to see if AF was about to arrive. I inserted a tampon & then removed it & there was very light pinkish brown CM & I think it's too late for implantation bleeding so I'm pretty sure it's AF. :/ SO disappointing! Thanks for all your support though. Guess there's always next month. :(

the cramos being stronger could be due to the fact that you really did ovulate this cycle..last cycle im suspecting my eggs did not mature enough and it made my period very mild and i didint cramp opposed to when i ovulate ill start cramping days before sometimes but dont worry you will get a bfp your on the right track :) be happy for the ovulation this month

Thanks. :) it's hard to be positive just because I've watched every one of my 3 best friends, most of my acquaintances and my sister get pregnant and have their babies. And I've been trying to convince my husband to try for a couple years now (we've been married 6 years). My nieces are 3 1/2 & 3 mths, my nephew is 5 mths, my one friend's baby is 1 1/2 mths and my other friend has a 4 year old and a 3 mth old. And I finally got my husband to agree to try, but I'm afraid what if he changed his mind? These past three+ years have been really hard on us & me especially & each time I don't get pregnant I get worried & discouraged. I mean I would like my baby to have friends/cousins close in age, but all my friends are done having kids and they're just gonna keep getting older and older while I struggle to become pregnant. I know thinking like this isn't helpful, but I'm turning 30 in 10 days & I've never been pregnant & I'm just really depressed. I keep trying to be optimistic, but it's really hard sometimes. :/

My gyno said he thinks I was pregnant, but miscarried very early. So that's hopeful I guess. He said that my body responded well to the medication because my cycle was very "regular" and that I should continue with that. He said the outcome looks positive. So I'll keep my fingers crossed for next month.

I understand, everyone i know around me is pregnant or has kids already and ive been trying since i got married more then a year and a half ago and it still has not happend but ive watched my sister in law have a baby then my other sister in law have a baby and about to have another one in september so its hard to deal with that and be ttc for so long and feeling so discouraged and like its just not going to happen. I have no idea if there is anything wrong with me or my husband yet...opks go positive but i know that does not mean that im ovulating but i think iam (should probally start temping so im 100%) and im guessing my husband is fine but i guess we all think that lol my mother had infertility problems caused by sever endometrosis but i dont think i have it and if i do i would say its very mild since my periods are normal and not to painful. I plan on going to the dr though when our insurance gets reinstated if it has not happend by then but i just think they wont take me very seriously and may not even help me since im so young (18)

Its sounding positive for you Aomame, it you responded well to the medication and your cycle is becoming regular it sounds like you'll be getting your bfp soon. I will keep hoping for you x
