13 weeks pregnant, and a 13 hour threatened abortion

What is "germinating some morning glory" ?! I assumed it was a weird way of saying sex but then you said you phoned your husband.

I would say its not an ectopic as the tube couldn't hold something that big, it would've ruptured around week 6-7 and there would have been a lot of pain and its usually fatal if not picked up early.

I would say a good possibility is it was an SCH I have one I haven't had bleeding yet but they pointed it out on my ultrasound Thursday, its a blood clot that forms in the walls of the uterus and it could be reabsorbed into the body(ideally) or it could cause a bleed which carries a 30-40% chance of miscarriage if it does. I've been told no heavy lifting, sexual activity or anything else that will cause contractions of the uterus or strenuous activity to try prevent rupture,

Germinating a seed means I was prepping a seed to be planted in my flower garden. There is a flower named "morning glory"

That is a very strange interpretation.

I've been replying to this on the other thread that you have posted on the second trimester boards. I hope everything is okay!

Thought I wold jump in here and explain that in the UK, 'morning glory' is slang for when men wake up, errr, 'happy' shall we say... which is why the previous poster thought it was a reference to sex. I have to say, I was wondering the same thing!

I am so sorry you had to go through all of that but also relieved that baby is ok.

Haha yes I'm in Australia and same reference to "morning glory" lol
I guess I just thought otherwise you'd just say "I was gardening" lol.

How did you go when they rang?

Oh Op - I have no experience at all with such a situation, but I am so sorry you went through so much trauma and were treated so poorly!!

But thank god your baby is still there and going strong!!

Let us know what answers you get x

Hahah! That is hilarious sorry for the confusion.

Also wanted to reply and say that I have not been with a sonographer, but with my doctor the entire time. He does the ultrasounds and I am confident he knows what he is doing, I don't feel like a priority of his. This is my first pregnancy and hubby and I want to feel special about it, not rushed when we get to see our baby once a month.

that's too funny. I have not had any news yet I guess itll be a few days. I am nervous though as I am bleeding a little heavier than yesterday with some cramping.

I am so angry for you.. I don't know how you kept your cool compared to what my reaction would be if doctors didn't see me immediately over someone with a broken finger...

Maybe that mass you passed was a twin, possibly? Have you had an ultra sound before?? Was it only one baby in there? That could be a possible answer, but my friend once (while on her period) passed a large piece of tissue which was apparently the lining of her womb or something like that. It could have been a build up of blood and tissue from a period that was going to happen, but didn't because you became pregnant?

No idea to be honest but I hope a doctor can give a well educated guess for peace of mind!
I am so happy that baby is safe and well with a heartbeat! I am so relieved for you. I can't imagine how that must have felt after the rubbish treatment and pain you'd just been through!

Make the biggest complaints you can to each hospital who did not assist you, or prioritise you. Write names, or descriptions to ensure those people get a talking to, is at least next time if you ever ever have to go (I really hope you will never have to go there again!!!) they will definitely have learnt their lesson and prioritise people properly!!!

So after cramping and bleeding continued to get worse this morning, my husband and I went to the ER of the hospital that has my specimen in their lab. After having MUCH better treatment, they have confirmed that I had a very weird and rare partial molar pregnancy.

"Partial molar pregnancy. An egg is fertilized by two sperm. The placenta becomes the molar growth. Any fetal tissue that forms is likely to have severe defects. Sometimes a pregnancy that seems to be twins is found to be one fetus and one molar pregnancy. But this is very rare"

https://www.webmd.com/baby/tc/molar-pregnancy-topic-overview

My HCG levels have dropped and am considered a threatened miscarriage right now. The doctor couldn't tell if my cervix was closed due to so much bleeding. I am on bed rest and ordered to drink lots of fluids and to relax. I do however, have a heartbeat and still have a viable pregnancy. Because it is the weekend they did not have an US tech on the floor of the hospital, so I still have to wait until Monday for a proper US and to see my doctor.

I have had 3 US and NONE of which confirmed a second fetus. The ER doctor and nurse believe it might be because I haven't had one done by a certified sonographer, but only by my doctor. I guess I haven't had a real scan yet either. I have seen this doctor 4 times. I am pretty pissed at him right now. So, that the news. My HCG levels have dropped drastically from Thursday, and are looking a little low for the baby I am still carrying. So far, my babe has a heartbeat so that's all I can hope for. Thanks ladies for all the support. But, I am glad to share my experience as I hope this helps someone in the future.

So sorry to hear this, and I'd be livid that your doctor didn't pick this up too, given that you said it was quite big!
Didn't you say you'd just had the NT test though? Surely that was carried out by a trained sonographer?! If not I'd be requesting it to be done again given that this doctor obviously doesn't have a trained eye for it!
Having a HB still sounds really promising and hopefully your body is just passing all of the matter from the molar pregnancy so it doesn't cause infection to your precious bub, and the hcg levels are just going down from accommodating 2 "babies" to one, plus I believe hcg levels naturally dip a bit at 12 weeks anyway as the placenta takes over?!

The HCG level theory would make sense me to as well. The doctor just didn't seem too positive, leaving me with a kinda bad feeling. I haven't seen a sonographer once, my doctor has done all of my US and has done all of my treatment.

I personally think if u were going to lose the baby it would've happened when the most severe aspects of passing the molar happened- it can only get better from here right? Plus molars cause you to have crazy high hcg so it would make sense for it to be dropping since passing the molar.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, keep us posted!

Wow him what a story. I'm part of a molar support group on here so please come and find us. Hope that baby stays strong xxx

For anyone who has been following this post in the second trimester forum, I am sorry for all the copying and pasting I have been doing with my responses as they can be very long and its just easier to do lol

Well all I can say is the doctor and nurse who actually looked at the thing I passed, thankfully she was on duty when I went in yesterday, both agree that whatever I passed was certainly NOT a clot. I feel positive that my baby is a fighter and will be okay. There was heartbeat of 160 yesterday. If I do miscarry, hubby and I have come to terms that there really ISNT anything anyone can do. While the chances f this happening is very sad, in the end I will just have to move on and understand that these things happen. No anger no resentment no fear. Just acceptance and faith that everything happens the way it is suppose to.

All I know is that my bleeding has come to a halt as I am just mildly spotting right now. My HCG levels dropping does make sense if this was in fact a partial molar, which would make explain a lot. I am trying to stay put and chill out in bed until Monday. As weird as this sounds, even being at risk still, I want nothing more than to get up and play in my garden, do the laundry, play with the dog, etc. Of course I wont, but I hate bed rest lol. Thanks again ladies. I will keep ya updated.
