Hi ladies, just wondering about the 16 week midwife appointment. :flower:

I haven't had a letter through or anything and was wondering if I need to call up and book this, or if it will be automatically booked for me?

Thanks!

Hey whigfield, where I live we have to book them ourselves. The community midwives visit our doctors surgery 2 afternoons per week, so I just had to call my normal doctors practise to make the appointment.
It's not very clear that you have to do this though! I only knew because it was the same when I had my dd!

Mine was booked when I left my 12 week appointment. I would call though, :)

My antenatal care is a clinic in my GPs (a Monday) so I ring up and book the closest Monday to my dates and am given an appointment. Worth a call to your GP.

Thanks ladies! Will get on the phone to my doctors surgery tomorrow. :flower:

Attempted to book, and was told that she wasn't available the week I turn 16 weeks. :dohh:

I have the option to book for 15 or 17 weeks. Which one should I pick?

I had to book mine myself but because she was fully booked I had my 16week appointment at 18+1 but that was fine because I was closer to 20wks she listened to the heart beat and then I had a week and then it was my scan :) xx

Our mw's here book your next appointment while your sat with her. I'd ring the surgery to check what their protocol is and you can always book it then if need be. X
