So i went to the bathroom (just pee) and found quite a lot of blood in the toilet. i called the on-call doctor and he said i was most likely miscarrying (or aborting in his terminology). This is my third pregnancy and I had bad progesterone problems the past two pregnancies. My doctor normally keeps my progesterone in check, but he is so booked that the very first time I'm seeing a doctor for this pregnancy is in 2 1/2 weeks. My doula thinks it is my progesterone and is having me take my previous medication from my last pregnancy. Do you think the baby is okay? I have just been stressing which I know doesn't help matters.

Dont fret! Yoy may be ok. I had bleeding at 17 weeks and it was diacovered on u/s that I had low lying placenta and just lifted too much at work that day. LO is 11 weeks now. I was just as worried then as I am sure you are now. Prayers to you!!

Thanks for the prayers! The doula had mention that I could have a low lying placenta. What do they do if that is the case? I think I've felt the baby kick since the bleeding started so that is probably a good sign, right?

Well the bleeding had stopped yesterday! I am getting some brown blood spotting this morning, but that should be just old blood(?). I am going in for a ultrasound tomorrow and getting some blood drawn, but my doula thinks the baby is fine. She said I could have just bursted a blood vessel down there which is no biggie. I'm just upset at the on-call doctor who left a voicemail saying that I was miscarrying and that there was nothing they would do for me. Praying that the ultrasound shows a nice healthy baby!

I too had bleeding around 16 weeks and I was diagnosed with placenta previa.... Put on modified bed rest. No sex, no lifting, no exercise. I'd definitely get seen right away to rule out anything more serious, and if its placenta previa, in most cases it moves up... Mine has. Best of luck.

Bursted blood vessel is right. That happens when you over do it and have previa. You may end up with a c-section if it doesn't move up on it own. Most of the time it does. I would be IRATE if I were you..at your Dr.

The reason for the c section is that if your placenta is near your cervix and you go into labor on your own, it can cause hemorrhaging. Mine moved up at 30 weeks :) I too was on a modified bed rest. My Dr also told me that it would be normal to still spot at times, but that is usually only a worry if you soak a pad or it is bright red. Its great that you are to the point you can feel LO move. Movement is always a good indicator of a healthy baby. :)

Thank you both for your comments! They are making me feel much more at ease! My hubby and mother have been taking care of the kids so I can rest as much as possible until we find out what is wrong. I'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

Good new! The baby is doing great! They did a full ultrasound and everything looked excellent! No low lying placenta either. The doctors are actually very confounded to why I was bleeding. The doctor even had the head OBGYN come look at me. The only thing he found was that my cervix was a little irritated but he said that is pretty normal with pregnancies.

So my guess is the progesterone. My normal doctor who deals with my progesterone wasn't in, but I had them do everything that my doctor normally did (check my prog. levels and prescribe me more progesterone). The doctors I had were super nice and caring! They told me to go on a mild bed rest till 48 hrs after the bleeding stops. I'm still spotting some slight brown, but it seems to be stopping!
