1st appt

I finally went in for my first appointment on Friday last week. Got an ultrasound and baby measured 6 weeks when I was counting 8 weeks based on LMP. Doctor said I ovulated later than usual but that the baby was good. Heard the heartbeat and it was beautiful.
But I didn't get any blood work, no pap (which I am due for one), is that norm? am I too early for the blood work? I have my next apt Sept 18 which will be 10 weeks.
I had prenatal care with my first in Germany and in Japan. So Im not sure what all is done in the states?

I don't remember a whole lot being done with my 1st appointment with my son. I haven't gone in for the 1st appointment with this one yet. But from what I remember they basically went over mine and my husband's entire family health history, took a urine and blood samples and that was pretty much it.
