As with all things, I think moderation is the key. I enjoy a beer or glass of wine occasionally and abstained from alcohol during my pregnancy. I don't see any harm in a few glasses a week as long as you're not nursing immediately afterwards. Personally, I find cutting things out of my diet to be very difficult. I've had to cut dairy out of my diet as it upsets my baby's stomach and all I can think about is ice cream and cheese! I'm terrible. A glass of wine now and then relaxes me. I think that if you feel it is a problem, it should be addressed, but I don't think you should give yourself such a hard time. Raising a baby is so incredibly stressful and there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to find ways of coping...as long as it's healthy!
