Hi
Well, due to financial circumstances I may need to go back to work.
DH and I wanted me to stay at home until the kids were in school and then perhaps I would work during school hours. However, we have recently moved from Australia to USA.
We have 2 houses in Australia, one has been on the Market since November 2014. Although several people have wanted to purchase the house, we have even had a definite offer fall through due to not being able to obtain finance, others interested also cannot obtain finance to purchase the property.
Our other house was rented out, and then in May we had a new tenant in teh house. Aftwer 6 weeks they were unable to pay the full amount of rent, and then left the house in August and the house has only now been rented out again. We still have not received any rent for this house since August.
MIL has offered to help with the repayments, however it was only supposed to be on the house that is for sale as the rental took care of itself. Now though, with the house not selling and the rental being vacant (THANKS MURPHYS LAW), we cant keep asking her for money that we may not even be able to pay back.
It looks like we will have to come up with a backup plan and pay for it ourselves since nothing is working out as planned...
DH already works 40+ hours a week and has a decent job with decent pay. We are surviving on his wage just fine, but in order to pay for the other houses I will need to work full time and put my full wage to Australia.
This means I will miss out on time with our son, may need to look into daycare, and I will be working for nothing! All of my earnings will be to pay interest on two houses. I have even considered just filing bankruptcy. I dont know....
Any tips on having to go back to work although you don't want to? Any tips for our situation? I feel so down.
I am an accountant so I will make decent money. But this isnt what we wanted...
