I was in the same suituation as you, i slept with my ex the day i finished my period and then every week after that i slept with my now boyfriend i was so worried, i just waited for my dateing scan and found out i was only a couple weeks pregs there for it is my new partners, i say just wait for your dateing scan to be sure, if you only had sex once after your ex and it was a week apart you will never know intill you get a dna. good luck its nerve racking

I really do not think that you should presume either way! It really could be your ex since you do not know when you ovulated (you could have ovulated early or not fit the 'normal' cycle) and sperm can live for 5 days on average and up to 7 days in a good environment. The truth is that some studies have shown that in some very rare cases sperm can live for up to 2 weeks! There is no way you can easily count out your ex. This said you current boyfriend can not be counted out either since the pull-out method is not fail safe and he may not have done it correctly anyway. The only fair thing to do is tell them both and get a DNA test when the baby is born. The fact that you had sex with both after your last period means a dating scan will not tell you for sure whose it is at all.

I agree that the father should 'step up' after the DNA test. But as far as involvement in pregnancy I could understand if neither feel very involved. I am not trying to sound nasty here but you have to see things from their point of view and it would be understandable is neither of them feel free to bond with the idea of becoming a dad if the baby may not be theirs.
