Day 2 pp my milk definitely came in; large, hard breasts. Lately, my breasts have felt "normal".. i can tell they are slightly bigger and sometimes in the morning i feel bumps in them til I feed but not these last couple days. I'm not sure if I'm making enough milk? I know LO is getting milk, the evening clusterfeeds (although I have read are normal) worry me as well as how my :holly: feel... tmi but how do yours feel?? I also don't feel these "let downs" I read about? Thanks girls :flower:

I remember not feeling as engorged as I'd expected I would, and I only really leaked at night. And I couldn't feel the letdowns either. (I can now, though! Oddly, I started noticing them after a month or two.) My supply is perfectly fine -- LO's weight gain has been great.

The cluster feeding may actually be a reason you are feeling soft. The point of the cluster feeding is to increase your supply at this time when it is very sensitive to your LO's demand. So at first she may be taking all the milk you are producing, but your supply will catch up quickly.

IMO the only things you need to be paying attention to right now are 1) diapers and 2) whether LO is actually swallowing during those long cluster feeds. If you're seeing enough wet diapers and you can tell that she's swallowing (not always -- comfort sucking is normal too -- but sometimes, when she gets going), chances are you are doing wonderfully!

Thanks so much for your reply seaweed eater :) hope you are doing well! I remember you from past trimesters, fancy seeing you over here :flower: Well we go through a TON of diapers so I THINK we're good.. we go back to the MW this week for weigh/check up so we'll know for sure then. I also stocked up on so many breastpads but I don't really leak? I did at first a bit but not anymore (well not noticeably anyway in the pad ) As for swallowing, I can definitely hear what I believe to be swallowing, she's a noisy eater (unless she's struggling to get milk) but literally "chugs", sound effects and all... chugs a few times, loud "swallow" sighs, chugs ect. lol she goes to sleep after (except at clusterfeeding times) so she must be satisfied

Hi

I feel similar to how you describe, lumpy boobs then after I feed they are soft but as long as they are full again afterwards in time for next feed (about 2hrs) I'm not worried. I think it's just supply getting sorted and it will level out.

I don't feel 'let down' either!

As for leaking, the one time I forgot to put breastpads in then the milk actually leaked through my bra onto my t-shirt and onto LOs babygrow on his belly when I was feeding him, so I think the pads soak up more than we realise. I don't really see anything on there but I clearly leak!!!! I only leak from the other boob when LO is feeding on one.

Sounds like everything is great then  don't get too concerned about the weight, some babies (especially BF babies) are slower gainers but it doesn't mean anything is wrong. But it sounds like she is getting plenty so I bet her weight gain will be fine.

I remember you from the pregnancy forums too! Congratulations on your girl :hugs:

I can't really comment on the soft boobies, because I have always had oversupply. But, the letdowns I didn't feel those until a few weeks ago. I remember in the begining the LC was watching my LO eat and she raised her eyebrows so the LC said, "Oh you must be having a letdown" I looked at her like she lost her damn mind because all I felt was my baby sucking.

I had this happen between 1.5 to 3 weeks with all of mine except for my youngest, and with my middle two didn't have much engorgement even when my milk came in. With my youngest I had an oversupply problem until he was around 11 months old, not fun. I also never really feel let down except in the first week or so and then it is usually the end let down not the initial one xx

My breasts are also soft apart from at night time when I get lumps in them. I have seen women feeling their boobs to see which one is full and ready for a feed but I just cant tell.

My baby is a chunk, he was born weighing 4.5 kg and at 3 weeks Nevada gone up to 5 kg so he is definitely getting milk, also he is a pukey baby so I see lots of milk when he pukes.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby :)
