2 weeks old feeding every 2 hrs at night

Can anyone help, my LO feeds every 3.5 - 4 hrs during the day taking 4 fl oz and he is full. But during the night he is up every 2 hrs again taking 4 fl oz. I thought of giving him 5 fl oz at night to see if he would sleep abit longer but he seems satisfied with 4 fl oz and doesn't take any more.

He is so good when he is awake takes the feed no fussing and goes back to sleep would just love to loose one of the feeds. I'm feeling ok now but I think a few more nights of every 2 hrs I will be so tired......anyone any ideas?

Sounds like he may have his days and nights mixed up! My DD2 when she was newborn would feed every 2-2.5 hours during the day, but go 3-5 hours at night.
Maybe try and help him get used to the fact that nights are for longer stretches of sleep. After 9pm, keep all lights low or off in the room that he is in at the time. Speak softly (or not at all) when he is awake at night and make sure there are no load TVs or background noises. When he wakes in the night, change him, feed him, then try and get him back to sleep asap, and give him as little stimulation as possible. xxx

Thanks, I will try that. Mum said the same try not to talk to much to him at night. He is very good when he wakes at night just takes his feed, I usually change him half way through to wake him up again for the rest of his feed and then straight back to sleep. He doesn't cry or fuss, sound terrible but just wish he would drop one feed! I was so tired this morning and hubby back to work now spent the morning like a zombie

my girly did that too! shes recently started doing 4hours at night and sometimes longer.
She had her days and nights mixed up

We kept her awake pretty much all day (with maybe a little nap at lunchtime) and from then on she seemed to work it out and sleeps a bit better.

Or try a day out all day so tons of fresh air! literally all day. It makes them tired then he may sleep well at night and once hes done it once, he will prob do it again!
