I had my 20 week scan today and little one is perfect :cloud9:

However, I've been told that the placenta is lying slightly over the opening to the cervix - placenta praevia. She said that I will need another scan at 34 weeks to see if my uterus has grown and stretched enough to move it away.

As you can imagine I'm quite upset at the thought of a c-section when it's not what I want.

Does anyone have any experience of this and where the placenta has moved out of the way?

Really hoping it does - just so glad that baby is ok though.

sorry didnt wanna read and run....fx @34 wks it has moved x

Yes - I found out last week that I have this as well and I have to get re-scanned at 28 weeks to see what happens. Have been told no :sex:

On a brigther note 2 friends of mine had this and theirs both moved long before birth. If you read the statistics apparantly like 90% of the time the placenta will move up as you grow.

Try not to worry :hugs:

Ooh wasn't told no nookie (not that there's much of that going on now!). I know there's a bleeding risk - should I ask my midwife?

I am glad LO is doing well, sorry to hear about the placenta previa though. On the bright side, there is still loads of time for it to move...wishes you the best!
