20 Week scan with gender

I went for my 20 week scan today and asked the technician if she could tell me then sex of the baby but she said she wasn't allowed to tell me. She said she could try to show me but I wasn't able to tell anything. I had left to wait for my picture but had to go back in from my coat and I saw she had written on the screen Gender - Male.

I'm having a boy!!!! I couldn't be happier. DH doesn't want to know the sex so I have to keep it a secret but yay I got to know.

hi, glad you got to know. NHS wont generally do gender. we have to pay £50 here for a private scan if we want to know.!!!

Why wouldnt they tell you?
At my hospital they tell you at 20 weeks, but i am privately booked because i cannot wait til end of may to find out lol xxx

They wont tell you because you have to wait and hear it from your doctor because it is a "diagnosis". I would have only had to wait until Thursday but I am so glad I found out today.
