I have not bought anything either really and im 27weeks tomorrow...
But we so have the mothercare plan tho.... But also have u maybe tried second hand shops or eBay....? Most mothers will only think about selling their baby stuff if it is safe it may be something u can look into xx

Yep...We've got a car seat (new) and bought a newborn bundle off of eBay, but I haven't been able to afford the new things that I wanted to give to the Baby. I try to remind myself though, that as long as Baby is loved, fed, warm, and dry, it won't need much else the first few months....xxx

I would defo have a look on ebay - theres some great bargains to be had!!

Not many people buy stuff that early any way so don't stress :).
We only started buying stuff a few weeks ago.
You just got to be savy about what you buy.
Babies can be dead cheap if you just go for the value stuff, even brand new!

We have hardly bought anything for the baby. Got some of the small stuff, but have nothing for the nursery.

We checked out Asda, Tesco, Morrissons, boots etc on deals for baby stuff, and have stocked up on nappies, got bottles, electric steriliser etc really cheap too.

We got some baby clothes bundles REALLY cheap on ebay. some new, some used. Keep an eye out. Seriously, we got big bundles of top named stuff for just a few pounds plus postage. We didn't think it'd be wise spending a huge amount on clothes as they grow out of them so quickly!

We are buying moses basket, bouncer etc 2nd hand (although very good condition) from a friend of the family.

We are always on the look out for vouchers too lol.

Talk to friends etc with babies .....

You'll be surprised that they haven't thought about sorting through their baby stuff and selling it!! I was chatting to someone on FB mentioned baby clothes and she was like would you be interested??

I said hell yer if cheap enough!!! She dug out a load of unisex stuff did her a favour and got me some cheap clothes!!

x x

The only thing we have bought is a few packets of nappies as I'm expecting twins so thats a whole lot of nappies :D...we stopped buying as I got bad news and we felt like we jinxed things. Please god If I bring 1 baby home from hospital we will be getting our stuff second hand from my sister in law.

Have you any friends/family that have a few bits they could lend you?

we havent bought much either.... trying to pay off sum bills ..christmas is so close also
but on facebook in my county they have a yardsale page n i am buyin sum baby stuff off this girl i went to school with n her son is under a yr old so this stuff is still new/used
and im also having a baby shower from the church :)

I'm the opposite, brought too much lol. All I really need now is the double pushchair, bottles and a few blankets I think!

Oh, hun. I'm sorry. Is it possible to arrange a stork party for little one? The pressies that you will receive will help a lot already.

I know exactly what you mean. We have nappies ... The free bag from boots and cos my oh sold his phone we got a second hand pushchair last week. Still the world to buy but got daughter's bday xmas car tax and mot all due. Sons bday just gone. Sure it will all work out in the end.
We'd be better off not working cos least we'd be entitled to grants and things.

Dont worry about not having much money to buy things - as long as you have the essentials and the baby is loved you will be absolutely fine!!

Its very surprising how many people are willing to help out when you are pregnant. There are lots of people wanting to give away/sell cheaply their old baby things so maybe you could ask your friends and get them to ask their friends!!

I'm due 7th March and won't be buying a thing until after xmas is over.. got so many kids birthdays and xmas!

I'm always like that though.. usually leave it till last minute

if your in the uk hun have a look on gumtree and preloved.com they have loads and some times people just want to get rid of the stuff for nothing!! dont stress to much, ask your friends or family if you could borrow stuff.dont worry about not having brand new things,do you think the baby will be bothered??? its going to be loved and looked after so doesnt matter were the stuff came from or how much it was.hope you get sorted x

Im starting to buy stuff from ebay like pages on Facebook. People in my local area selling things really cheap.

Look up for one near you :)

Only bought a crib so far but mostly cuz i'm waiting until after the babyshower so i can get a better idea of what else i will still need to buy. Like others have mentioned ebay is a great place to shop also think about checking out thrift stored and garage sales and just give everything a good cleaning.

We're waiting on a couple of things....1) to find out the gender. Cause if it's a girl, I have almost everything from my first, and if it's a boy I have at least 5 friends who have stuff set aside for us. 2) Christmas. We're going to get quite a bit of stuff then I'm sure. and 3) the showers. (yes, there's a "s" at the end of that. One's an hour and a half north of us, where all our family and friends are, and one is here in town with J's "work family"...but that one might end up being after baby comes).

We literally haven't bought anything. We are saving though....so that if/when we do need to buy something we're not strapped. But we're not lost on how blessed and lucky we are that we really need to buy next to nothing. Everything is either left over from my first, or going to be given to us one way or another....it's an overwhelming feeling to know that.
