Met my MW this morning and she said my weight gain was a bit too fast, 22 lbs at 28 weeks pregnant. I knew she would say something as you can imagine because of my previous post about not being able to stop eating chocolate. :dohh:

Of course I plan to eat less fattening stuff but with christmas around the corner it is difficult. I eat very healthily, fish, fruit and vegetables but at night I have this craving for chocolate that I seem to not handle at the moment.

Now I feel a bit down and unhappy with my looks. :nope: Is this horrible weight gain?? Will I end up as a whale? Do you know of any website with good pregnancy weight gain calculators where I can see where my weight will be at 40 weeks if this continues?

I just so want to eat chocolate!! *sigh*

I'm almost 31weeks and have gained about 21lbs. I wouldn't worry about it, everyone is different and I don't think 28lbs is excessive xxx

Thanks Weebear!

No I didn't think is was horrible either.. but my MW sounded a bit stressed about it so I got worried. :nope:

I gained about a pound for every week. At 28 weeks I was up 28 pounds....

Depends how much you weighed at the start, hun. The more you weigh, the less you should gain apparently. Good luck!

I am almost exactly the same. Started with BMI of 24.5 so I was hoping it would be a little less than this, but really it's not too bad. A big chunk of mine was first tri having to eat lots to avoid being sick. Now my diet isn't too bad apart from a serious sweet tooth at times but I'm not being as active as I'd hoped. I was 68kg when I started and last week was 79.

I would not worry hon. I have gained 28 pounds at 28 weeks and my doc isn't worried at all.

I have gained 28 lbs at 32 weeks. My obgyn said that's normal. As Ivybaby said it depends on your pre-pregnancy weight - the smaller you were the more you should gain. My obgyn said based on my pre-pregnancy weight of approx. 130 lbs (5'7) she wants to see me put on about 35-40lbs to have a healthy baby weight. I had 22 lbs on at 28 weeks too... I think you're weight gain is fine!! Don't stress out, & if you plan to breastfeed it will fall off easily after anyway. Good luck and PS. I have a crazy love for chocolate too, I will not give it up for anything. It's my comfort food, so as I always say.... chocolate makes me happy. A Happy mom makes a happy baby :) Take Care

i'm probably at about 25 pounds now and i'm 27 wks. i really dont think it's that bad. I feel like a 40 pound weight gain is pretty normal. I know people who gained 60, 70, and 90 pounds. I dont see either of us gaining that much so i'm sure were in the clear. My MIL also told me with a bit of exercise and breast feeding, you lose most of it without much effort. Good luck and dont worry, you wont become a whale.

Sounds fine to me but really it depends on ur starting weight, if u were over weight to start with I think they recommend you try not to gain too much x

I am 28 weeks, and at 19 pounds so not far behind! I was also BMI of 27 before pregnancy so I know I am almost to my max. for weight gain. I am going to try and eat healthy during the week and allow for treats on the weekends, hopefully that will keep me satisfied! :( I don't want to be a whale either, I simply have terrible self control.

Thank you so much ladies. I can't believe how sweet you are.

I was "normal" I think before with almost 25 in BMI but am getting quite plump now I must admit. :haha: I´m going to stop worrying and obsessing over my weight and enjoy this time. If I become a whale I just have to work even harder after my princess is born.
