Hi all.

I am after some advice regarding the birth of my 2nd bubs. My first bubs had the most horrendous birth. My waters went 2 weeks early and i started with contractions in my back. I was sent home from hospital that day as i was only 1cm dialated. Later that night the pain in my back was so intence i went back the hospital and they kept me in. Nothing else happened until they took me down to labour room the next night. I requested an epidural (massive mistake). All along i felt like i wanted to push. To cut a long story short both my heart beat and bubs dropped they had to call a consultant in and my poor baby boy was dragged out by big forcepts. They cut me and i ripped the rest of the way. They also dislocated my boys shoulder aswell. He was 9lb 01oz. I found out later that he was back to back with me and i have a tilted womb. My poor mum said that she had never seen so much blood.
Now i do not wish this to happen again, im 6 years older and i dont want this little one to be stressed. Should i go for an elective c section or try for natural knowing what lewis's birth was like??? All advice would be most greatful.

Considering all that you've said, are you considered ''high risk'' and have you seen an Obstetrician as yet?
The obstetrician will possibly advise a caesarean but I would strongly suggest you try for a natural delivery rather than major surgery.
Caesareans are not the easy way out.

I do also recommend that you get in plenty of research before the birth, for example, which positions better help women with tilted wombs? (I think the answer to that is on all-fours)

Best of luck

What degree was your episiotomy/tear? My son was born via emergency forceps and it was very traumatic for me. I could never go through that again so I'm afraid I would personally elect for a section. It's whatever you feel most comfortable with :hugs:

I just wanted to add that I had a very positive experience with a totally unexpected emcs. Talk to your midwife and doctor - I'm attempting a vbac but in some ways i'd prefer to have another cs as it removes the fear of the unknown.

Good luck whatever you decide.
