2nd pregnancy, days til due date, 2 false starts.... Normal???

I'm currently having early labour pains similar to the ones I had with my 1st labour but I wasn't sure if 2nd time round is less likely to be false labour. I have had quite a bit of the mucous plug come away with streaks of blood, cramping and mild contractions but they haven't progressed at all and are very irregular.

I am just wondering if any of you on your 2nd pregnancy had a few false starts?

I had 2 false starts with my 2nd - one of them I even went into the hospital for. Then when I was in labor, they would have sent me home again but my doc happened to be oncall and wanted to check me out.

It was very odd to me, because my first labor I had had a false start, but when active labor set in, it was VERY fast and I barely made it to the hospital, so totally expected #2 to be similar. Doc ended up needing to rupture my membranes to kick things into full gear with #2!

Just a quick update on this one...
It wasn't a false start - it was the real thing!!!!
My little boy was born at 10:30pm that night... It became incredibly painful really fast, contractions were regular and lasting 40 seconds within no time and when I got to the pregnancy assessment unit I was ready to go... Unfortunately I was too late for antibiotics but the baby got them straight after birth so he was fine after a couple of days on the drip!

I am still in shock!
