as the title says- i dont feel this baby moving as much as my first baby. it was also really inactive during the scan whereas my daughter was jumping all over the place? could it be just a lazy baby lol ive felt movement and heartbeat and scans were all clear. or could it be just im chubbier lol Im 19weeks . Thanks ladies xxx

Might also be due to where your placenta is, if your placenta is at the front it can cushion the kicks

I felt movement early on but I don't feel much movement at all. I do have an anterior placenta this time so I'm guessing that's why. I know over the coming weeks it should get stronger but I have days where I don't feel anything really. Then all of a sudden ill feel something. I think it's still early to be concerned as some people don't feel anything until 20 odd weeks. And there's still plenty on space in there where baby can hide. Hopefully you'll feel some more movement soon. Have you got your scan notes as should say on there whether placenta is anterior or posterior.

With dd1 I felt her at 16 weeks. Didn't feel dd2 until 19+ weeks (anterior placenta) and with this one, I *think* I've been feeling tiny movenents for almost a week now, but they're so tiny that I'm still not 100% sure

It'll be the placenta, I've got an anterior placenta too and feel faint flutters every now and then but nothing regular. Sort of a shame as I'd like to feel baby more, but assume I'll be glad of the extra cushioning when he/she is bigger and booting my ribs :)

My first was a boy and I felt him for the first time at 16 weeks and he was pretty active from then on and is the most active child I've ever seen lol, my second which is a little girl I felt her move earlier but she is a gentle little soul, she doesn't kick the crap out of me like my son did but she has had a couple of days which have been a little active but the majority of the time its just little nudges here and there or she is moving to get comfortable just not kicking and punching lol so I'm hoping she will have this laid back nature when she is born! My placenta was posterior and low lying with first and is posterior and fundal this time. If your placenta is not the cause it could just be a laid back baby hehe xx

i have felt baby move but not much this tme around i am also really chubby

I feel the same way - first time round with my DD my movements felt stronger at this stage. I have been thinking it could be my placenta, but I have no idea where it is positioned. I do feel kicks daily now at 19 weeks but they feel so tiny and infrequent!

I could have wrote your post, right down to the inactivity at the scans. I dunno, but I keep telling myself, after 20 weeks maybe I will feel more...

Don't worry! My son was SUPER lazy in the womb! I mean I would feel him maybe once every few hours, all the way up until the end! He never met kick count requirements and I was always worried, but he was perfect, and got a 10 on the apgar scale after birth. Now he is an extremely active and vibrant 2 year old!

My current baby is WAY WAY more active! I think they are all different when they're in your belly!

Also your frequency of movements felt will really increase the closer you get to 27 weeks! A lot of times they move but we don't feel them before 26 weeks.

Hello, I'm exactly the same...this is my 3rd pregnancy,,2nd baby. I felt movements around 16 & 17 weeks and since the, nothing. I've even been into hospital to get heartbeat checked over I've been that worried. But everything was fine, I've since invested in a Doppler just to reassure me as my first baby was stillborn.
I am 20weeks tomorrow & have no idea where my placenta is lying, I will find out on Friday at my scan I guess Xx

My son passed at 32 weeks due to a doctors mistake so I believe I am super sensitive to all this as well. I just try to move on with life knowing that if something was wrong my doctor would have picked up on it by this point....

Sorry for your loss as well....its quite a road we all travel. :hugs:

Nothing to be too concerned about at this stage. This one moves tons but then we have days where I don't feel a thing. I have an anterior placenta to the side and I can tell when it moves across. My first I didn't ever really get huge kicks - just nudges and shuffles which can be harder to detect. Personality, space and placenta can all play a huge part in feeling movement.
