Hi everyone

So I have a few worries and fears now I am in 2nd tri. I thought when I got here I would be fine but I've got all these worries and questions.
Firstly since I feel much better (no feeling sick, no sore boobs), is it possible I could no longer be pregnant but my body hasn't rejected the baby yet. I previously had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, but the baby had stopped growing at just over 5 weeks so for 4 weeks I wasn't pregnant but I thought I was. Could this be happening now ??

But on the other hand I think I may feel fluttering, but how long after the fluttering will you feel proper movements ?? A midwife I work with said you won't feel movements until at least 20 -22 weeks and she was so adament that I feel like something is wrong.

I do get odd pains in my stomach but only today I keep getting this pulling like feeling to the right of my belly button, I assume these pains are normal but as this is my first I really don't know what's normal and what's not.

I just can't wait to start feeling the little pudding properly so I know he/she is ok. Then I guess a whole lot of new worries start. Lol.

Its normal to still have worries esp since u had a precious miscarriage. I was the same way once I got into second trimester. Symptoms come and go so don't worry if their gone for alil bit. I started feeling flutters at about 13 weeks. And they've been off and on since. Honestly everyone's pregnancy is different. So try not to worry as much hun. I'm sure things are gonna be okk :).

I know how you feel, I thought once I hit the second trimester and was after the 12 week stage my worries would lighten, however unfortunately they didn't and more worries begin. I don't think we ever stop worrying really, in the first trimester we worry about miscarriage (even more so if you have experience of one), then in the second trimester you worry at every pain and question movements, etc, in the third trimester you start worrying about the birth and have anxieties that it will go ok, and then when they are born, it is SIDS, etc. The worry just goes on and is part and parcel of being a mummy, and it is a good sign that you'll be a good mum as it shows you care! :)

I wouldn't worry too much about your symptoms disappearing, that is meant to be perfectly normal and it is said that the second trimester is when all the symptoms fade and you can start to enjoy the pregnancy apparently! It is very rare to have a mmc after 12 weeks, most happen in the early days, and as sad as they are, happen when the pregnancy isn't viable. You know your pregnancy is viable so the chance of another mmc is extremely rare.

You can feel flutters or movements any time from 14 weeks onwards, although the most common stage is between 18 and 22 weeks, or so I've been told. I felt flutters with my son at 15 weeks and the midwives told me as it was my first baby it is unlikely I'd be feeling them so soon but I know what I felt, they were definite flutters.

Every unusual pain does make you worry however I am sure they are just round ligament pains and the muscles all stretching in there to accomodate your baby.

It's possible that you are feeling flutters, but it could also be gas or other normal thing going on with your body. It can be really hard to tell the difference sometimes. I'm not at all saying you didn't really feel flutters...just saying that for the benefit of anyone who may read this. The fluttering will come and go. Most likely, you won't feel much of anything for a while. Just a little something here and there, if anything. That DOES NOT mean anything is wrong. It takes a while into the pregnancy before movements feel strong and regular.

You'll feel lots of little odd aches and pains during your pregnancy, and it's likely you won't fully understand what exactly it is you are feeling at times. Most discomfort in the tummy region really is round ligament pain of some sort. There are lots of changes going on inside and it causes discomfort in areas you didn't even know you had.

Nobody can guarantee that a miscarriage won't occur, but try to remember that your chances are a lot better that everything is fine then it not being fine. I'm sure that is super hard given your past experience. Miscarriages in first trimester are a lot more common than ones in second tri...remember that too.

And just try to relax. Yes, there will ALWAYS be something to be worried about but worrying changes nothing about the outcome. Try not to let worries or negative thoughts consume you.

Symptoms drop when you get into second tri - that's why it's known to be the 'best' trimester because you feel human again. All of mine disappeared completely so I bought males a Doppler at 13 weeks for reassurance at it has been a life saver.

In terms of flutterings, I've had them since 14 weeks, first real 'kick' at 16 weeks and have one hell of an active baby at 23! Everyone is different, my mum didn't know she was pregnant with me until 7 months.

In terms of pain, I wake up daily with an achey back and bump feeling like I've been hit by a car. Think about all the stretching and growing you're doing and it makes perfect sense why you'd ache a lot. My little lady is on my sciatic nerve causing all kinds of trouble for me! As long as there's no bleeding or excruciating pain, it's all just part and parcel of being pregnant :)

:hugs: I personally have not had a miscarriage, but I had these fears this time around. I was sick up until 14 weeks and sore breasts up to just before that. But it seemed like inbetween appointments I was always worrying myself that something happened. I had an appt at 10 weeks, another one at 14 weeks, and then had one at 18 weeks. No matter what I always had that worry in the back of my mind. Doctor couldn't find the hb at 10 weeks, but she told me that it was a possibility as baby was still small and moved around alot. It still worried me. But then at 14 weeks I started to feel baby moving, and was confirmed when I went to my appt because we could hear the hb, and hear baby moving around on the doppler. I still worried after that though lol. It's very normal but try not to let it stress you out. I finally have started to stop worrying because I feel baby move almost constantly now, and I'm almost 24 weeks along.

Had my midwife appointment today and she checked for the heartbeat. It was so lovely to know the baby is ok and heard it moving around. It's a relief. Also my mother in law has just brought us a gift voucher for a 3d scan so am looking forward to that but does anyone know the best time to go. It says between 24 - 34 weeks, but I'm thinking if I have my scan at 20 weeks, it might be best to wait a while until the 3d scan. :hugs:
