Hi
I posted about this a while back now but still my baby is on 120ml (4oz). We have tried her on 150ml (5oz) but it seems to not really work.

She has 6 bottles a day every 3hours. I know my baby would cry if she wanted more but she finishes her bottle quite quickly.

Someone said to me the other day that babies should leave abit of milk in the bottle so you know the baby if full? I had never heard this before!

Any suggestions???

Thanks

Mine took around the same amount at that age.

It is true that baby should leave some - the idea is to feed on demand. It's hard to know if they've had "enough" if they always finish the bottle. Maybe try 4.5 ounces and see how she does?

A good rule of thumb - if they leave half an ounce, you have the perfect amount. Anything more and you're wasting formula :)

My LO only had 4oz until recently, now he is on 5oz but wants around 6 bottles, does go a long stretch at night though! Just try and think babies only have small stomachs, so whilst 4oz to us seems a tiny amount, it must be filling our LO's up, otherwise if they were hungry they would surely drink more xx

My 5 month old still only takes 120 - 150ml every 3 hours. I'm lucky if she takes 150ml. It is true that if they're draining the bottle you should make an extra ounce/30ml.

My LO must be a piggy then as he's taking 120-150mls every 3-4 hours and hes only 17 days old!! Lol xx
