30 weeks and measuring small?? :-(

Ok I'm 30 weeks and at my 28 week midwife appointment she measured my fundal height and said everything was bang on.

I've been quite ill during this pregnancy but baby has always been fine and that has always kept me happy.

Yesterday I had another appointment where a different midwife says I was very neat and measuring small. She showed me a fundal height chart and marked me at like 6% on it, so naturally this has me worried.

Anyone been thru something similar or able to offer some advice?? xx

I know other ladies here have had fundal height issues and many have said it is totally unreliable. I am sure there was a thread the other day and the ladies were saying they had been sent for growth scans and all was fine. If I were you I would ring the midwife and say you are a little upset and would like some reassurance. They may send you for a scan.

Different midwives can measure you differently. Have they referred you for a scan or asked to check it again in a week or so?
I wouldn't worry too much.

I hope so..got a scan in 2 weeks to check my placenta's position so hopefully he will be the right size then. I've even got it into my head I can't feel him moving today..think im just worrying about it all. Wish I could relax about this pregnancy for 1 day lol!

I have been small on my actual growth scans themselves but the medical team don't seem too worried about her size.

I believe that different midwives measure differently and some say small some say fine.
Is she sending you for a growth scan?

I don't think the measurements are totally accurate either way and every woman is different. As long as you feel baby moving and you are feeling ok I wouldn't worry. Some babies are naturally small and some women have small bumps through out.

my mw measured mine at 33cm at 28 weeks and another one 1 day later! measured mine at 29cm at 28 weeks

I've measured 1-3 cm small my entire pregnancy than I measured 5 cm small and last now I'm measuring 8 cm small... i just had a growth scan and everything with bubs is absolutely perfect.

Just stay alert for ANY decrease in movement..

i measured small all the way through my pregnancy then my lil boy was 6lb8 at 38weeks i am masuring waay small this time too but not gonna think about it this time as i obsessed over it last time lol xxx

Right up until the other day my fundalmeasurement was fine but it hasnt grown the past 2 weeks and I have a scan on Friday just to check but Im sure everything is fine I mean she is moving normally etc.
Apparently being small in stature can affect it too. Im only 5 ft 1 so Im guessing Its probably just that at 34 plus weeks shes measured me at 32 plus weeks. Ive heard its not too accurate though and the ultrasound will obv be able to see if anything is wrong.
Hope all goes well for both of us
