38 week midwife appointment

Hi, anyone from the UK....should I expect any internal checks at my 38 week midwife appointment? I've not had any so far which I believe is normal for the UK, but just wondered if I would be checked to see if I'm dilated at all now that I am getting closer to my due date. Or does all of this happen when you go over your due date?

Nope they don't check intetnal here. You will be offered a sweep once past 40 weeks

Nope, no internal at my 38 week appt. I've been booked in for 40 weeks and a sweep at 41 if i haven't had the baby by then.

Had my 38 week check this week and didn't get internal.

Didn't have any last time at all either.

From experience though, every area seems different

No they dont usually do internals, but offer a sweep once your 40 weeks.
