39+1--24 hr urine test due to of protein in my urine. I'm scared!

So at my midwife apt. yesterday, my pee was reallllly dark. It also had "a lot" of protein in it. So they sent me to the lab and I am doing a 24 hour urine test. Has anyone had to do this?

She said I may have only had so my protein because it was so dark. I don't have the other signs of pre-eclampsia such as high blood pressure or swelling. I have been having severe headaches on and off and weird things with my vision happening maybe every 2-3 days. I am reallllly afraid off what the test results will say.

Has anyone gone through something similar? What happened with you? What do they usually do if the results say I have pre-eclampsia?

my pee ALWAYS had hig protein and glucose in it and I was fine on the pre clamsia never got it you are almost popping that baby out so dont worry I would think worse case senario they will induce you xx

I also had to do the 24hr urine, I got kept in over night and induced the next day, bit I DID have pre eclamsia xxx

I was induced with my son at 39 weeks + 1 day due to pre-eclampsia. As you are full term, that is usually the course of action they follow. Did they draw your blood to check for liver function and the like, too? My induction went smoothly and wasn't too scary. The preeclampsia went away right after the birth, too, so that worked out ok. Good luck, and try not to worry too much. It is good that they are checking things out to make sure you both have the best care possible.

Yeah they drew my blood and did the whole shabang. I guess I shouldn't be so afraid it's just I was hoping it would all happen naturally:/ But thank you all for your responses! I should be hearing about my test results at some point today!

Just wanted to update--my doctor said although the amount of protein in my urine is a little high, it's not enough for her to worry! :] Thanks all.

Glad to hear everything is ok Hope you get your natural birth. I had pre eclampsia and had to have an emergency section at 27 weeks. IF it was pre eclampsia, they would just induce you at this stage I think but you're so close to your due date hopefully you'll be able to just let things happen in their own time xx
