Hi ladies....I am finding myself being awakened by hunger pains around 3 or 4 am each day. I mean I am not understanding why because I eat a really good dinner and am satisfied before bed. So when I wake up early in the morning feeling this way I am left feeling clueless  as to why this is happening. Is anyone else going thru this same thing? I wonder if this is going to signify feeding times when the baby gets here. Any clue???

I've been waking up at 5 feeling like I havent ate for days! I can also feel the baby moving around a lot then too, I was wondering myself the other night if the baby would wake up at 5am for feeding as it may be getting into a routine, lol. xxx

I am the same...Im an eating machine at the minute its a nightmare..My tummy seems to growl all day long, no matter how often I eat!!! x

i get this feeling as well! which is very strange for me!

I am feeling like this as of late too. I think for me, it is because my meals are smaller now. I can't eat as much. I get horrible indigestion at night so my meals are smaller and more frequent. I woke up at 4 this morning as well with heartburn and my stomach was growling! LOL! Weird! I will take it though! So at 6 am I got up and had me my bowl of Opps All Berries cereal and drank all the milk and now me and baby are happy............. for now! LOL!

Yep I was up Sunday night at 3am for a bowl of cereal - the dog wasn't too pleased to be woken up! Slept right through last night (apart from for the loo) so must've eaten at the right time / enough. I never go to bed hungry but every few days I feel the need for an early morning snack.

I constantly wake up at night feeling really hungry im not a big eater at night so i usually get something to drink and lay back down im to lazy to actually wake up outta my sleep to eat:)

Thank you ladies....It's always good to know that one is not alone in the hunger pain. LOL. :D

my mum used to wake up at 4:10am every morning for her bowl of cornflakes wen she was pregnant with me then one day she woke up at 4am and her waters had broke, so id advise u lot to go to bed early around due date as you mite be up early the day lil ones decide to make their appearance lol x

i too am feeling this! i just lay in bed waiting for the hunger to subside.
maybe i should give in- i am logging my calories using myfitnesspal.com and could use a bit more- i just have NO time!!! but at 4 AM if i am awake i guess i have nothing else to do!
i remember though that the raging hunger (and thirst) i feel at 4am every morning as a nursing mom makes this look like child's play. i guess it makes sense- the amount of calories burnt by nursing is more than the amount needed by being pregnant

I think you just need a snack before bed. If I don't have a little snack before bed, than I wake up starving in the middle of the night. You're just hungry...lol. You need a bit more food when pregnant.

I dnt kno if anyone feels dis,but for me its d contrary to wats been said so far.
If I eat a lot of food before going to bed and I'm full,I find dat at around 3am wen I wake up wit a full bladder to pee,I'm so hungry I culd cry.but if I eat a smaller portion I dnt get hungry during d night, but will definetly hav to eat sumting wen I wake up for gud early morning.I guess my body goz in over drive if I eat a lot.

I've had this the whole pregnancy, but every night the last few weeks. This past week I've noticed baby is fluttering a lot around then too, so he/she must be hungry or trying to tell me this is what their feeding schedule will be! If I don't feel like totally waking up to eat, I'll at least have something to drink, but it is hard to fall asleep hungry.

I've had this early morning hunger issue for at least 6 weeks. I don't like eating at that time, so I'll chug a glass of milk or OJ and that always seems to do the trick.

Like Sherileigh said, try having a small, high-protein snack before bedtime; the protein will help you feel full for longer.

Your definitely not the only one, I wake up at strange hours with extreme hunger and it hurtts! Its really hard getting back to sleep feeling like that and I'm too lazy to get out of bed for something to eat lol
