My son is 4 years old and had a very small head when he was a baby, he was below the bottom graph line but his growth was steady and a specialist cleared him. However his development has always been slow and now he is 4 I'm getting worried.

He doesn't hold eye contact when we talk to eachother, he flicks between my eyes and around the room, and when he is frustrated instead of using his words he makes baby noises like.. uuurrrrr.. urrrrr.. and reaches out for what he wants..

He does not have Autism, I have done a test for him and his range was normal but I wonder if his behavior is normal for his age or not?

I have a 6 year old daughter who was very fast at learning and doing things so maybe I just am basing him on her very rapid development? :/

If you are worried I'd take him back to the GP.

I'd say though, that I think a small head generally isn't a cause for concern. My son's was always right on the bottom of the graph where as he was up at the 98th percentile for height and weight!

Is he starting school in September? I'm sure they will highlight it if they have any concerns :flower:

I agree with the above if you are worried then I would go see your GP.

My son is 4 and sometimes when I am talking to him he doesnt hold eye contact, I have to keep telling him to look at me when I am talking, tbh I think he just gets bored really quickly. Dec also makes up his own words, not so much baby words but he makes up different words (sounds like another language) for different things.

When Dec is in a mood he wont talk, he will point and grunt at the things he wants or expect me to guess what he wants lol

I think what you need to remember is that little boys are completely different to little girls, most little girls seem to mature a lot quicker than boys, when I watch the girls in Decs class it is hard to believe some of them are younger than him, they are so grown up.
