I went in to L&D last night for high blood pressure and chest pains. They did a cervical check and said that my cervix was closed and I'm only 50% effaced, from what she could tell, as my cervix is high and posterior.
I got my cerclage taken out at 36 weeks, where they stopped my labor. I was told I was 2 cm dilated then. Is it possible to close up? He is still very low, but I'm very confused about last night. I only made it to 22 weeks with my first, and was found dilated to 3cm and 100% at 16 weeks, so this stuff is new to me at this point. Anyone else experience this?

I don't have a lot of experience. But I do know that your cervix can open and close for those first few cms .very frustrating . Hope your bp gets better x

My dr was saying he was going to keep an eye open for it not opening more (I have a lot of scar tissue from the stitch is what they told me) but had no idea it could close. I was pretty bummed when I heard that. And thank you :) I have an appt Monday, he was saying either they induce me (I was induced with pitocin with my first after she passed) and without sounding too dramatic, it was very painful. I guess I really hoped to go on my own this time.

Edit: I'm sorry, how rude of me. Thank you for responding :), I felt like a fool asking it.

Don't feel like a fool :hugs: we all have lots of questions. I'm on my third baby and because I have never gone into natural labour I still have tons of questions for my midwife !! :haha: I can't imagine how hard it was to go through that induction procedure with your first lo. :hugs: Pitocin SUCKS , I had a 12hr labour with it and they whacked me upto full dose pretty quickly  try and get really active this weekend , walk loads , run up and down stairs , if you can bear it get hubs to help :sex: :haha: get bouncing on a ball too ... Keep us updated :hugs:
