Thank you for pointing me in this direction, bigbetty! It helps a lot to see other women go through what I am going through - especially all of the worrying. All of my friends are smaller than me and had really healthy pregnancies, so my imagination is going wild with my worries!

All you can do is go with the flow hun!

I didn't have GD, no blood pressure problems. I saw an anaesthatist who told me that she would have no problem getting an epidural in my back or a tube down my throat if needed in an emergency and she wanted me to have as active a birth as possible.

I didn't really have extra appointments, I just had a couple with my consultant instead of my midwife when I was normally due a check anyway. The only others I had were my GTT and the meeting with the anaesthatist - oh and a couple of growth scans which I obviously wanted to go to so I could see everything was ok.

I tried to lose weight before ttc. I gave up alcohol, ate healthily, took vitamins - but I just didn't feel right and I didn't get pregnant. The minute I stopped worrying and became myself again it happened - and I had put 14lbs on too and was the heaviest I had ever been in my life!!!

I'm in no way trying to say you shouldn't lose weight before you ttc though love, I really hope you achieve your goals and feel better for it xx

Hello everyone! Congrats to Starlit on your beautiful little girl. She is so precious. Also congrats to the newest members and all the BFP's. Bunni it's good to see you around again.

AFM: I know I have not been on here much lately. I just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is. Life is so hectic (baby and home renovations) it seems like a luxury to be able to sit at a computer for any length of time. :haha: Everything is going very well though. I am still absolutely in love with my little man. He is about 3 1/2 months and so far, this has been the best age. He is smiling and giggling up a storm. I just have to share a few pictures:

Hi ladies...

My name is Jess and I'm currently WTT - we're aiming to try by December at the latest (hopefully sooner). The only thing holding me back right now is my weight!! I'm 220lbs and 5'5", and that makes me think that I won't get a bump at all, and that it will just be basically a bigger version of the belly I've got now, lol. I'm also really worried about health issues that may/may not come up when I fall pregnant... is it more difficult being big like I am? Is there a greater chance for GD and whatnot? I don't have any real health problems (besides weak teeth and obviously being overweight), but I have regular periods and whatnot... I'm just so worried something will go wrong all because I'm big.
I'm hoping I can drop a little of this weight before we try, but it's SOOO difficult! Any advice or stories to keep my mind at ease?
Congrats to all of the newly pregnant ladies I see! And good luck to those still trying. :flower:

HIIIIII....I wanted to wait as well...I lost some weight but overall I knew I just needed to be healthy so thats what I focused on....I workout and eat right...and on our 7th month trying...we did it...:-) Still worried....but I know my body can do this...I just not be a skinny girl with a perfect bump but I will be ok!!! :-)

hey ladies.. Mind if I join you..? :flower:

We've been TTC since January, we were also TTC March/April of 2010 w/ a MC in June 2010. We had a chemical in March 2011. I've been feeling super down lately, like the reason we haven't been able to conceive & have a succesful pregnancy is because of my weight.. It's super encouraging to see so many ladies that have had succesful pregnancies though.. :)

I'm onto my 2nd Soy cycle, so hopefully that'll do the trick.. I've been excersizing (sp?) daily & have lost a few lbs, but have a ways to go before I'm at a healthy weight.. I've also got PCOS, so I think that makes this whole weight loss process harder..

Oh well, really just looking for some support and :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

It has a good benefit ie weight loss when I have tried so hard to lose weight in the past just feels so odd never being hungry or wanting food !!! 3 1/2 stone is fab would be happy to lose the same my bmi is terrible I think 45 so dreading what the midwife will say to me I have a friend who has a bmi of 31 and has been given such a hard time it does panic me a bit !!! how did you find the midwives ? x

I was bmi 44 when I got my bfp and had absolutely no problems whatsoever from midwives, consultant or the anaesthatist I had to see xx

If anyone is rude to you then refuse to see them again and ask for someone else. At the end of the day you are a human being and deserve the same care as everyone else, not to be treated like crap.
