Just got back from my first midwife appointment, have lost 6kgs or 13.2 pounds !!! So pretty pleased with that in just 3 weeks although I feel so rough !!! I know some of you lost weight through pregnancy did you lose all the way through ?

I did - I had lost 3.5 stone in total when I was weighed after having Fran. One of the midwives weighed me to check whether I still needed the anti-clotting injection and my bmi had dropped from 44 to 37 so I didn't :happydance:

Thanks Betty, fingers crossed I feel bit better soon but would be quite happy if my weight keeps on dropping !! Normally so hard to lose weight been an ongoing battle for so long. I really would like cute maternity tshirts but the biggest size is a 20 so I may just be able to fit them if I carry on like I am. How has your weight been since you had Fran ? xx

Well I was doing just fine until I went back on the depo at my 6wk check up and then my eating just spiralled out of control - I've put 2.5 stone back on again

But once DH goes back to work next week after his holiday we are going on a health kick and I'm going to start taking control again!

It's so hard isn't it, a constant battle I have been big since I was 12 good luck with the health kick although it's just such hard work isn't it xxx

Hello everyone! I don't get a chance to get online often, but I wanted to drop in and say hello.

I've made it to 31 weeks - as of now I have a repeat c-section scheduled for November 16th.

---- My blood pressure has, for the most part, remained great for the entire pregnancy! I was induced at 37 weeks with my son because it was bad and just got worse the entire pregnancy.

---- I've gained 14-16 pounds and I'm a bit bummed about that, lol. Oh well.

---- I've had lots of BH - especially when I've been on my feet for a while.

---- I failed the 1 hour glucose test :-(. I've always done so good on those! Have to do the 3 hr next Thursday.

---- My husband is finally super-excited (instead of ambivalent) because he realizes he'll finally be getting a little girl!

--- I was hospitalized a week ago due to shortness of breath, a spike in blood pressure, and extremely rapid pulse. IT was the worst experience ever because the doctors there, are, quite frankly, assholes. The residents were fine - but the "attending physicians" treated me like crap. I was diagnosed as having anxiety and sleep apnea - because (1) I'm a woman and (2)I'm fat so apparently I'm not breathing. Other doctors later admited that there was no actually basis for those diagnoses. At this point, we've decided I probably do have GD or at least severe insulin resistance and that was what was causing my symptoms. The jerk doctor treated me like garbage and basically told me I'm going to die in my sleep if I don't get down to 220 pounds ASAP after delivery. He was shocked that I even conceived at 265 pounds in the first place. Complete prick.

So....that's my story, lol.

Congrats Brandy!!!

Wow I would put a serious complaint in about those doctors - what wankers! Christ I was 286lbs when I conceived and had absolutely no problems during my pregnancy!

You are still a human being at the end of the day and even skinny women can suffer with GD.

Tossers!!!! Gaaah I'm so angry for you!!!

Ok now I've got that out my system, it's nice to see you hun! I really hope everything goes well for the last little bit of your pregnancy xx

Andie!! I have missed you so much! It is so awesome to see that you are so far along!! You my dear are going to have a happy healthy wonderful baby! I am so sorry for how the DR's treated you! Someone needs there butt kicked! Stay strong and get back here as soon as you can! I cant wait to see pictures of that sweet little girl!

Hey All! My husband and I have been ttc for along time now. We have an 11 yr. daugther and would love to add just one more. I am overweight size 26 and have tryed everything I know to any suggestion?

Great to hear from you Andie - so glad you and your little girl are doing well :) Just don't listen to those stupid fattist Drs - you are doing a great job growing your little miracle :)

For those asking about weight loss, I have lost 2 stone in this pregnancy, and have since put 8lbs back on - so still down a stone and a hlf from pre-preg weight, so really pleased :)

AFM - had my growth scan last week and it seems my little girl aint so little, lol! They estimate she weighed 7lbs 5oz at 38+5 - so looking to be 9-10lbs fully cooked! I have to have another GTT test, even though I passed with flying colours at 28wks, then seeing the Consultant again in a couple of weeks time to discuss 'options'. I think they would want me to consider induction, but not sure how I feel about that really.

Does anyone have experience of birthing bigger babies?!!!!

I do hun! My daughter was 9lb 13oz! I had GD that went under the radar. They took her at 38wks by c-section. She was measuring 9 to 10lbs at 36wks though.

My best friend just gave birth to a 10lb 2oz baby two days ago and managed not to tear at ALL! Did I mention she is 5 feet tall and normally weighs just over 100lbs? Lmao I don't know how she did it!

Blimey dontworry that is impressive!! But I can beat you, lol! My best friend had an 11lb 7oz baby boy last week!!!! All natural, just gas&air and no tears! It was her third baby, but even so. He did have shoulder dystocia though so was an emergency delivery in the end - but they are both doing just fine now :)

Thinking about her makes me feel better, lol!

Hi love, sorry you've not been successful so far. How long have you been trying for?

That is a HUGE baby boy!! Oh my. Glad both momma and bubs are safe and healthy though. :)
Yes, people like that give me hope because I have this feeling that I'm going to have bigger babies lol.

Not long now!

Apologies if this has been asked before....my internet connection is playing up something rotten tonight, and I'll die if I try and look back through the thread.

Are you actively trying to lose weight during your pregnancy, and if so, how are you doing it, and do your medical team know/support this?

I have lots of weight to lose, but given my age, I've no time to lose with regards to TTC. I've joined weight watchers but both my WW leader and my GP have told me I must stop dieting/attending WW if I fall pregnant... I'm tempted to just not tell my leader for a few weeks if I do ever get a BFP...because whilst I absolutely don't wish to put 'baby' at risk, I would be very interested in a way of safely continuing to lose weight whilst pregnant

I lost 3.5stone in my pregnancy and it was because of being sick at least once almost every day because of m/s until 23wks and heartburn all the way through, and a reduced appetite. I just didn't want to eat a lot of the time - very strange for me lol.
