WOW! what a convo.!
I am over weight.! But as my last health exam a few weeks ago.. EVERYTHING else is fine.! No health issues.! Perfectly healthy.!
My doctor said my weight will NOT keep me from getting pregnant .!

Well since you have not signed off and I's assuming like you do that your are still lurking... You are making a statement based off what you see. You have no idea in reality and like Lisa said YOU ARE NOT A DOCTOR!!!
If a doctor get paid to take and read tests and there is nothing wrong with you and you are healthy then your are HEALTHY!!! How much do you get paid to keep responding to something that you are just looking like the bigger jackass with each post?
I know for one thing you chose the wrong post to come to because us "FAT HEALTHY GIRLS" would smother you!!!
Again come out of your box and realize that the average size for people in 2010 is size 12/14. And that is HEALTHY!!! Im done

I am a big girl and i know it but i have had 3 healthy pregnancies.

Good luck to all the ladies TTCing and i hope all the Mummies who are currently pregnant have happy and healthy pregnancies.

My bmi is very high approx 46 and i am trying to lose weight. I didn't have period for a while upon coming off pill late 2008. However i did fall preg in Jan this year and again in June but ended in miscarriage in March and ectopic June x

If you are overwieght - especially if in the obese range - it is better to try to get as fit as possible if planning to get pregnant. It would be better for your future baby. Children whose mothers were overweight while pregnant are more likely to be bigger babies and overweight as children.

Really.... because both my babes were nearly 10lb and my eldest is as skinny as they come and my toddler is just right.

Why single out the overweight Mums and Mums to be and TTCers? i could say single out Mums who drink, take drugs etc while pregnant but i wont because im not judgemental.

Evening Ladies,

Just stumbled on this post, it drives me insane when small minded people feel it is ok to judge, you can never judge anyone else until you have walked in there shoes!

I am very overweight probably morbidly obese but I have a full and happy life I work full time am mummy to a very happy active 7 year old who is the perfect weight, and was 7lb 6 at birth, no issues while pregnant and straight forward birth with no complications or pain releif !!!! I didn't put any weight on when pregnant at all infact lost some!

I am in the first month of TTC for my second and am consicous of making sure that I am eating my 5 a day and staying as active as possible.

Gosh just read all posts and what a horrible poster she was. Can't stand people who try to make others feel bad. We are not deluded, we know what healthy bmi is etc. Blimey!

Forgive me cause my A.D.D. has kicked in and I can't sit through reading all the pages..But I am a bit overweight (according to the scale, but not the way I look) and my OBGYN said that I am a perfect candidate to be preggers...He also told me that unless you are over weight to the point that it is endangering ones life then YES you can get and will get pregnant...While sometimes the risks of diabetes may be a little higher it is perfectly controllable...I got gestational diabetes with baby #2 he was born at a healthy 10lbs 3oz, but now he is skinny as a bird...I was able to controll my sugars and loose all the weight...The only downfall for me was I now have Type 2 diabetes cause it runs in my family.....
So, to whom ever is saying that you can't get preggers and be healthy and have a healthy baby while being a little over what the scale is saying is a good weight for you, they really need to take a closer look at things and talk to some specialist....As a matter of fact my doctor did tell me that a female with a little extra body weight actually tends to have easier healthier pregnancies cause it's not so much of a strain on our bodies...Now that doesn't mean we should all go out and pig out and do nothing all day but it does mean that it's OK to NOT be built like a stick !!!!

I am overweight and was diagnosed with PCOS 5 months ago. I am taking Metformin but it does not seem to have helped regulate my cycles at all.

It is so inspiring to read all of these stories. I have really been after myself about needing to lose weight> I feel a bit better now. Thanks ladies

I've been everything from too skinny to overweight. Now that DH and I are TTC, of course I'm at my heaviest. I've been worried it will make it harder, but frankly I'm skinny when I'm depressed, and 20 or so lbs overweight when I'm happy. I'd rather be happy.

I think we will all have healthy beautiful babies who will grow to be healthy beautiful children!!! I have done a lot of research on this topic and know we are making the right decision with TTC and God is with us Like someone said there could be far worse things than weight. Sadly enough I have had friends abusing drugs or alcohol on a daily basis and have kids and continue to have kids...I would rather be heavy than deal with drugs anyday!!!
