I need some help here! I've had two MC (aug 2012 and dec 2012) am 5 weeks pregnant today. I suspected that my progesterone was low and am using a supplement called Bee Youthful Progesterone Cream. I had my bloods tested at 4 weeks 4 days and my levels was 48 nmol/L = 15 ng/mL

I was given my results over the phone at my request and the nurse said that the doctor wanted to see me but that it wasn't urgent. From my calculations this is considered LOW for progesterone in beginning pregnancy and I'm already on a natural supplement when being tested.

I have an appointment for as soon as I can get one which means I have to wait 3 days!!

This is driving me crazy. Does anyone know if these levels are okay??

My quantitative hCG at 4 weeks 4 days was 238 iu/L (from my calculations this just barely counts as OKAY as levels for 4-5 weeks can range from 200-7000) is this correct?!

Thank you and I hope I put this thread in the correct category and if it's not please point me in the right direction!

you levels are great for where you are.....hcg can be as low as 6...mine was with one son and he is now 12 and for where u are if ur progesterone is over 11 that is great......

good luck, try to relax...if there was a problem you would have been told right away....:)

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if there was anyone out there haha.

your welcome...i been on this suppliment and when i do concieve it get raised for a few months to make sure...if ur doc raising it as precaution?

I get to go to my second appointment in the morning, and I'll tell him that I'm taking the natural progesterone and see how he feels about putting me on more. My levels were tested a year ago and by lab standards I was okay. After I had my 2 MC's I did a bit of research and according to Dr. Elizabeth Viliet book, "Screaming to be Heard: Hormonal Connections Women Suspect, and Doctors Still Ignore", I was low and she believes that doctors and labs don't go by the correct standards and I chose to go on a natural bio- identical progesterone myself. I've been on the cream since mid Jan and was going to hold off getting pregnant for a 3rd try until after I had time to get more tests done to see how the cream was working, but we had an immaculate conception lol and obviously I've been very concerned. I didn't tell my doctor the other day that I was using the cream because I wanted to be tested while using it and I didn't want to risk him asking me to stop it so he could get an accurate reading. Now that my levels are looking okay I'll come clean and tell him and see where we need to go from there.

Thanks! xo Jup

hi hun. my initial hcg at 17dpo was only 79 and my progesterone was 8...2 days later hcg went up to 371 but progesterone only 9.2 so i was put on suppositories until 12 weeks

My doctor would not grant my wish of prescription progesterone. I started spotting several days later and contacted him and he told me to not stress and put my feet up. I did this and the bleeding became heavier and heavier each day until I knew it was over yet again at 6 weeks 5 days.

I am now trying to get a referral to a fertility clinic as I think they'll take my progesterone issue much more seriously.

Ever onwards, Jup

that sucks that he will not listen to you...i would switch doctors as your right, this is what it sounds like and i would be so furious that I keep losing pregnancies and they did nothing about it!

good luck hun

i would definitely find a doctor that will help you. there is a lot of research that shows low progesterone causes early losses. hope you find a doctor that will listen to you!
