I have used many different types of pregnancy tests over the years. Clear blue easy, equate and First Response Early Response..My period is very very regular every 28 days like clock work and I got it right on schedule. On day one of my period I woke up in extreme pain that I really have never felt before in my uterous and lower back. I then fainted in the bathroom on the floor which i have never done either. My husband then took me into the emergency room at 2am. The doctor checked me out and did a blood test pregnancy test and other tests. Everything is good and the test was negative. Now that being said I coninuted to cramp in my uterous and lower back for several days after. On day two of my period it stopped and never came back. This has only happened when I was pregnant. So this leads me to go buy a FIRST RESPONSE EARLY DETECTION PREGNANCY TEST so off the the store I go..

Ok so I read the test through properly even check the expirey date it wa all fine. I then take the test out of the foil package and remove the cap and begin to pee on the stick with it pointing down into my urine stream. I pee on the stick for 5 seconds like the intructions had said to do and I would have my results within three minutes but was no supposed to read any results after ten minutes. Very clear instructions.

I then remove the test stick form my urine and then put the cap back on the test and set it on the counter on a dry clean area....

Right away the test line and the control line light up brightly..Two lines pink with in 10 seconds...The line stays I watch and almost faint at the same time from shock...After about 2 minutes of the line staying positive it then disapears.

So I just let it go as a defective test and then left it alone for a couple days. The cramping continues so i decide 3 days later to test again with a FRER pregnancy test I follow all the instructions to a T.
As I did before I set the stick with the cap back on it on a dry clean spot on the counter and to my surprise two even darker pink lines light up in the first 10 seconds. So here comes the whole I'm going to faint and shock for the second time. This time the lines stay for about 2-3 minutes and then the line disapears again. Now I am super confused. Each of the two obove FRER tests I had done so far I had bought in individual packages from different stores.

Now the tests says that you will get your result within 3 minutes. So leaves me even more confused because I received two different results in the three minutes. So maybe the dye moving across the test had turned both the lines very pink.

So I decided to go buy one more and test in the morning. I bought the exact same brand FRER with two in the pack from a completley different store than the stores above because they were the only ones on sale and as of now i am becoming broke...lol

So I did one first thing in the morning as the other tests I had done were during the day. I did exactly what I was supposed to step by step as I had in the above tests. This time after I layed the test on the dry flat counter with the cap back on it turned up positive right away as well and after a minute and thrity seconds the positive line went away again. So because I had two of them in the box I did the other test later in the day and same result test showed up positive right away and then the line disappeared. I have done many tests before and done many FRERP tests and never had this happen. So they should somewhere on the box be telling woman this can happen because in the past it meant I was pregnant but the line always stayed which would conclude me to believe that I am not pregnant. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon and will let you know the results but I do believe I am not pregnant or the lines would of stayed even though I have never had them light up brightly this way before I believe I have recieved alot of faulty tests where the dye was just lighting up the second line for awhile.

Anyone have any opinions at all??? I can see this happening with 1 or maybe even 2 but these were all from different stores but maybe FRER CAN DO THIS and maybe no one reports it...:nope:

I really have no idea hun but fingers crossed it is your :bfp:
Keep us updated xxx

alot of ladies are having this problem i think they might be faulty hun.

GOOD LUCK.x

I had the same probem, I called FRER who want the tests back & are refunding me what I paid.

I tested again on a superdrug & it was BFN :(

hey did you have it happen on one or more??? I'm so sorry you weren't I'm sure Im not either...
Big hugs

Hiya, I bought 4 boxes & ended up using them all thinking I was getting faint BFP's. Only one test was what I'd call normal & just went to BFN.
All the boxes had the same batch number -BU9306DB, I wonder if yours are from the same batch?

So Strange! But hon, if a hospital blood test isn't going to pick up any HCG there is no way an HPT will! I understand holding on to hope though but the blood tests are obviously much stronger and accurate than any HPT.
You should call your HPT call centers and get refunds though.

Good luck!

I think we do have the same batch.... what were the expirey dates on the box mine were december 2011.......I swear they did this on purpose to get people to buy more.....maybe they needed to up there sales.....I heard it depends which way they do the blood test. I only would of been like 3 days pregnant at the time and the doc said it would show up at 3 days after conception... :)

Like it would of been 3 days after conception not implantaion!

like i wrote on your other thread...i had 4 tests do the same thing last month with FRER. that has NEVER happened to me with FRER before...i always thought they were reliable. it was very disapointing for sure!!! i had lots of faith in FRER until then

They need to be recalled I feel your pain!!!

could you test again with a different brand hun?

I will go out today and buy a clear blue and easy early and I will tell you all what it says....I'm positive I am not that the tests are defective....Then this way I should no once and for all..Because if it showing up on the other ones it should show up on this one...We did the horizontal polka well 14 days ago...maybe 15 ao it should shw up now for sure right?????:nope:

i had the same thing on a FRER except mine stayed a positive for 10 mins, it got fainter and fainter and was basically gone at 40 mins unless i held it up at a light, and its says a positive result should stay for at least 48 hours, i then took a superdrug test which came up with a faint positive. then took another superdrug which was negative :-S..i think i just was super unlucky and had 2 faulty different brand tests in a row, but havent confirmed this yet, will be testing again soon. xx

hi love i had the same problem with just the 1 tho and it was a cheap 1, the test line was their then b4 i knew it it was gone. i did a few more test tho and they are all negative, yet my period still has not arrived. wish u all the look xxx

hey when was ur AF due? I remember you posting about these tests...

im not sure because i have had a different cycle length every month, last 3 have been, 28, 29, 30..its normally somewhere around the early 30's in length, but been anywhere between 27-40 days in length, so from what i have ''normally'' , probably earliest im due on is 3rd, but could have had a shorter cycle, who knows :-S..i might be late already..xx

good luck, hope you all get your BFPs soon. I never realised false positives were so common

hey ladies well I tested with clear blue easy and it was BFN so indeed the frer were all faulty!!! And it was a definate BFN......I only held my pee for 1.5 hours but still it should show up....So I'm offically wanting all my money back from FRER......will never ever use there brand again ever.......

sorry to hear than hun. i would deffo complain to FRER that is disgusting. most drs over here dont even do a repeat test so there could be loads of women walking aroung mistakenly thinking they are pregnant.
