im starting to worry about the amount of milk poppy is having. today she has had 150ml at 9 then 100ml at 1 then at 4 80 ml , i am weaning her but ive not given any food today as i want her to have more milk i just have no idea what is causing her to have less ? she has a full bottle in the night tho also she never asks for a bottle now she seems fine in her self although her sleeps have been awful the last few days but i think thats because we have stopped swaddling her. anyone else the same or have any advice?

Does she have teeth coming through at all? Maybe try some teething gel 10 minutes before a bottle?

Does she perhaps need to move up a teat size?

HTH :flower:

she is on size 3 teats and she hasnt got any teeth coming although i did try teething gel before it did nothing so its definitely not teeth x

my lo started to drop milk at same age so on gp advice we stepped up the weaning, HOWEVER we had issues with milk consumption before as lo has reflux and on meds for that. the minimum they should have is 16oz in a day so long as having that then you could always try more solids...?

My boy is feeding less too. I was worried too and my Health Visitor told me to give milk in food as we're weaning him. Or to give full fat yogurt (that I won't do).
He loves food and has begun refusing a morning feed in favour of breakfast, biting me if I try and feed him!
I was told to aim for a pint of milk a day (sadly my boobs don't have a measure :haha).

Finn favours his food over milk too. I mix in his milk with his porridge or other meals if I can. Once she's 6mths old she only has to have a minimum of 1pint a day and that can include other diary products i.e cheese, yogurt, full fat milk. I also give Finn baby vitamins which they can have from 6mth onwards to keep him on good form.

I wouldn't worry too much just keep her hydrated with water and watery foods like fruit. So long as she's happy, well and not hungry then she's probably just one of those babies that loves their grub so much they'd rather have that instead of milk.

thankyou for your replies she definatly loves her food im going to see the hv today and just check if its ok to give more food as i dont give dinner yet as i wanted to wait till 6 months as i wanted to do it slowly but i think she has other ideas :)
