5 week scan showed nothing

hi im new to all this, found out 9 days ago i was pregnant and straight away it was thought to be eptopic as i have been having a few light pains off and on, been going hospital every 48 hours to have blood tests done to measure my hcg levels, they have gone from 219 to 5462 which i was told was good, 2 days ago i started to get a small amount of brown discharge so i went straight to hospital and i was still told it was nothing to worry about. Yesterday i had my first scan, i had just turned 5 weeks and although its early i was told they would see something as my hormone levels was so high. i had an internal scan done and they thought they seen something but they couldnt be sure, they did find a cyst on my ovarie which im told was normal. the lady said basically its unusal not to see anything and she cant understand whats going on, she sent me away with an appointment to go back in 8 days time and a leaflet saying that i have either lost it already, going to lose it or that the baby has stopped growing. obviously me and my husband are really upset and we dont know what to think, can anybody please help.

ummmmm at 5 weeks there should be a gestational sac. is there a possibility that you arent 5 weeks yet? because before that all you will get is a thickened uterine lining. good luck with everything

Im sorry hun i have no advice the earliest i have ever had a scan was 7 weeks & it was so small they had to bring me back to double check that their was somethimg in the sac as they couldnt see clear enough i feel very angry at the hospital after reading this for just leaving you in limbo with such a negitave leaflet !! I hope eveything turns out to be fine & it has just been to early to see anything

I just had a scan at either 4 weeks and 6 days or 5 weeks exactly and there was a gestational sac and a slight hint of a yolk sac on the top of the sac. If you are that time I would definately think you should see a sac. If your dates could be off by a few days then it might just be too early. Hugs.
